Change Will Be Required In 2012

Barack Obama burst onto the nation's radar promising "change," and anyone who believes he hasn't attempted to deliver it (Matt Damon's recent protestations notwithstanding) is either delusional or has been asleep for the past three years. Whatever one may think of his performance in the White House, it cannot be denied that he has taken significant steps to radically alter America.

On the campaign trail in '08, he gave no details about what "change" he would like to see occur, and millions of Americans who were dog tired of wars overseas and a nearly incompetent Bush administration, really didn't request many.

For those who were curious, however, at the end of 2011, we have our answers: Barack Obama would like the U.S. to be much less white and he wants new arrivees and their children to be subsidized at levels previously unprecedented in the U.S.

How do we know this? By looking at his major political efforts during his time in office: Obamacare and the ongoing crusade against states that have sought to enforce immigration laws. Let's briefly review them.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") is pretty simple at its core. It takes billions of dollars in healthcare funds that would normally go to the elderly through Medicare, and redistributes them to millions of previously uninsured people (http://www.nationalcenter.org/NPA590.html). The poor and uninsured in the U.S. are mostly new arrivees and blacks and Hispanics, and they are the folks who will disproportionately receive the medical handouts that the middle class will finance under the president's plan. Think of it like EBT cards and Los Angeles public schools, only hundreds of times bigger. The folks paying (mostly white and middle class) will be required to further subsidize people who have had families they can't afford. Only this time, they will be doing it on a level that encompasses over 15% of our country's economic output.

Insofar as the President's undeclared war on state immigration law enforcement efforts, Mr. Obama has used Eric Holder and the Department of Justice like a spiked club. Indeed, he has repeatedly taken broad swings at states whose officials have demonstrated the audacity to try to chase off the burgeoning illegal immigrant population that Washington won't. Utah, Georgia, Alabama and Arizona are only some of the states that find themselves embroiled in multi-million dollar litigation with a federal government that does nothing to stop the loss of billions of taxpayer dollars consumed by illegal aliens and their offspring. As Americans grapple with an unemployment rate much higher than the one that existed before Mr. Obama took up residence on Pennyslvania Avenue, the president's operatives have hounded Joe Arpaio with inane accusations of "racial profiling" (as if a person' skin color or ethnicity is relevant when a limited English speaker is utilizing stolen Social Security numbers or presents a Matricula Consular card to a highway patrol officer in lieu of a drivers license), and attacked all state efforts to have voters identify themselves with state issued (and usually free) identification cards.

Should this desired "change" come as a surprise? Not to people who have looked at Barack Obama, the company he has kept, and what he has written. He said on the campaign trail that he wanted to "spread the wealth." Well, if fully implemented, his healthcare "fix" will achieve that at a level previously unseen in American history. Further, he attended church services presided over by Jeremiah Wright for twenty years and had the pastor officiate at important Obama family ceremonies. There's a saying, folks: Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are. Keep that in mind when you stop to consider what the president thinks of the American white middle class.

If you believe another major legalization effort for millions of undereducated and fundamentally dishonest people from Mexico and El Salvador (only this time, a lot bigger) is good for America, the incumbent should definitely receive your vote. If you believe that struggling middle class families have an ongoing obligation to subsidize people who had children they could never have afforded to pay for on their own, a second term for President Obama is certainly what you should want. However, if you're of the opinion that immigration and employment laws should not be treated as "optional," and that the U.S. takes in more than its share of legal immigrants each year, then change is what will be required in 2012.

National Remembrance Day For Victims Of Illegal Aliens (2011)

Thousands of Americans are crippled or killed each year by individuals who have no business being inside the United States. These appallingly high numbers are only possible because government officials largely treat immigration and employment laws as "optional." Take the thousands of politicians who can't be bothered to see federal statutes enforced, and add office-holding outright illegal alien cheerleaders such as Gil Cedillo, Antonio Villaraigosa, Linda Sanchez, John McCain, Rick Perry, Luis Gutierrez, George W. Bush (a former office holder), Thomas Menino and Deval Patrick, and you have millions of people unlawfully in the U.S. who would never have been given residency through legal channels.

The costs of illegal immigration are well known, however, the identities of some who pay a steeper price than others are often not.

As this is National Remembrance Day, we at DerailAmnesty.com will recall two of them.

In 2006, Tyler Lundin was 19 years old and driving his Toyota Tacoma through his hometown Antelope Valley, located in the high desert north of Los Angeles. Unfortunately for Tyler, another person sharing the roads with him that day was Wilfredo Brizuela, a driver lacking a license, sobriety and legal presence in the U.S. Brizuela blew through an intersection light and promptly plowed his Honda Civic into Lundin's vehicle. Tyler Lundin was transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center where he succumbed to "major head injuries." Brizuela, meanwhile, had to be detained by three passers by. One of the people who grabbed the drunk driver informed law enforcement who responded to the scene of Lundin's killing that "The guy didn't have any papers, so he tried to take off."

A little over three years ago, Jamiel Shaw had just spoken to his father by phone and advised him he was coming home. Shaw was returning from an orientation/presentation for promising athletes bound for college football programs. Although Shaw was less than a block away from his family's house, he didn't make it. An illegal alien with an extensive criminal record, Pedro Espinoza, had just been released from an L.A. area jail. Espinoza used his recently acquired freedom to grab a gun and shoot Jamiel Shaw.

Since Jamiel's death, his family members have unsuccessfully 1) run for local public office in an effort to reduce crime in L.A., 2) attempted to persuade local L.A. officials to stop providing sanctuary for violent illegal aliens, 3) attempted to place a measure on the ballot allowing law enforcement to arrest known gang members for immigration violations, and 4) sued Los Angeles for negligently creating conditions that resulted in Jamiel's needless death.

Since Jamiel's death, Pedro Espinoza has 1) assaulted a deputy sheriff, 2) slashed the face of a handcuffed jail inmate with a razor, and 3) instigated a riot in lock-up.

Why Car Wash Unionizing Won't Catch On

Most baby boomers probably have at least a dim recollection of the campy "Car Wash" movie from the 1970's. The film's plot centered around a day in the life of the mostly African-American employees at a car wash in Southern California. The movie wouldn't be made today, of course, and not because of the passings of George Carlin and Richard Pryor, but because you don't see any brothers at car washes anymore in L.A. As with construction, auto body shops and maintenance businesses, black workers are almost entirely extinct in Los Angeles. Just like the fast food service industry, most such positions are occupied by Hispanic illegal aliens and their children.

Illegal aliens have replaced African-Americans in low skill jobs during the past quarter century because they rarely complain and can be paid less. Nowhere is this more evident than at local car washes.

Of course, when you have an illiterate, undocumented work force, all sorts of abuses by employers can take place. The illegal immigrant cheerleaders at Clean Car Wash L.A. have complained of incidents of bullying of employees, workers being paid only in tips, hazardous working conditions, and a lack of break time. For the record, we have no doubt that most or all of these accusations are true. If you allow people to violate the law, illegal alien workers or employers of illegal aliens, they will take advantage of it. That's human nature.

Consequently, the Cesar Chavez and Saul Alinsky inspired folks at the National Day Labor Organizing Network, the UCLA Labor Center, and other "economic justice" outfits have undertaken a major community organizing effort to start unionizing car washes. And in recent weeks, they have enjoyed their first major success (http://articles.latimes.com/2011/oct/26/news/car-wash-union-20111026). The ownership of Bonus Car Wash, in ultra-liberal Santa Monica, has recognized the United Steel Workers as the certified collective bargaining representative of the illegals who scrub, wipe, and vacuum automobiles at their establishment.

Now we will mostly sidestep belaboring the obvious point that none of this unionizing would be necessary if the employees were legally in the country because legal actions and litigation would have put an end to the above-described employer misconduct years ago. Instead, it's better to briefly explain why efforts to unionize car washes en masse are doomed to fail, and it's really this simple:

Illegal aliens serve four basic purposes in America. One, they provide cheap, compliant and malleable labor. Two, they produce votes and influence for various special interest groups and politicians. Three, they buy things and provide consumption for American businesses and government entities. Four, they attend and contribute to churches.

Of course, by unionizing, the employers will now have to start treating the illegals like regular American workers, which means less employer control and higher costs. This situation will drive up prices because it directly interferes with Purpose Number One.

It's hardly rocket science. If you own a business, you want illegals because they cost less and don't cause problems. When they don't and they do, there's almost no point employing them anymore. The car wash industry in California is competitive, however, and most people who own such businesses like having their near slave labor workforce, so we at DerailAmnesty.com have a bold prediction (and we're really going out on a limb with this one!): Illegals from Latin America will continue to work at car washes in L.A. and most of them won't be unionized.

Welcome To California, The Lunatic State

California is the nation's most populous state and can boast of the following:

- An unemployment rate 3 percentage points higher than the national average.
- An illegal alien population over twice the size of any other state's illegal alien population.

- An annual state deficit over twice the size of any other state's annual deficit.
- A shortfall of funding that has closed 30% of California's state parks.
- A shortfall of funding that is resulting in the termination of thousands of court employees and closing of dozens of criminal and civil courtrooms.
- Insufficient funds for maintaining California's enormous prison population, resulting in the early release of thousands of felons.
- Over 30% of welfare recipients in the United States.

The Alienation Of America's Middle Class

We here at DerailAmnesty.com are big fans of the writings of Pat Buchanan. There is a relentless essence of common sense and practicality that weaves through all his ideas that make their way on to printed pages. For that reason, like the conservative nerds we are, we jumped at the chance to scan some of the pages made public from his new book, that will be released later this month.

Why the alienation in Middle America?  

In their lifetimes, they have seen their Christian faith purged from schools their taxes paid for and mocked in movies and on TV. They have seen their factories shuttered and jobs outsourced. They have seen trillions of tax dollars go for Great Society programs, but have seen no Great Society, only crime, rising illegitimacy, and rising dropout rates. They watch on cable as illegal aliens walk into their country and are rewarded with free health care and education for their kids, take away jobs from U.S. workers, and carry Mexican flags while marching in American cities to demand U.S. citizenship.  

They see Wall Street banks bailed out and read that the bankers used the billions not to lend but to trade, and that the bonuses are back. They see their government shoveling billions out to Fortune 500 companies and banks to rescue the country from a financial crisis created by that same government, and by those same companies and banks. They sense they are losing their country. And they are right.

Our intellectual, cultural, and political elites are today engaged in one of the most audacious and ambitious experiments in history. They are trying to transform a Western Christian republic into an egalitarian democracy made up of all tribes, races, creeds, and cultures of planet Earth. They have dethroned our God, purged our cradle of faith from public life, and repudiated the Judeo-Christian moral code by which previous generations sought to live.

If there is an inequality of rewards in society, they believe, this is the residue of a reactionary America, the fruit of societal injustice, and it is the moral duty of our modern state to rectify that injustice and mandate equality. Those who reject these truths are benighted and bigoted.

Our secular elites believe in this revolution. The people never did. Middle America detests it. Thus it has had to be imposed from above, by judges, bureaucrats, professors, and those who control the content of our culture. One part of America believes we are headed for a wonderful new age. The silent majority thinks the country has lost its mind.

Alabama Has Exposed The Left's Immigration Lies

We can't possibly deport all those people! Do you know how much that would cost?

Immigration laws can only be enforced by the federal government!

Really? Is that so?

Unlike folks in California, Texas and Nevada, the people residing in Alabama decided they didn't want to be victimized by illegal immigration. The prospect of deplorable public schools, unpaid emergency room hospital bills, and hordes of unlicensed drivers apparently did not sit well with American citizens in the "Heart of Dixie." Consequently, the state stood up, passed legislation designed to curb the influx of the undocumented, withstood the gratuitous and inane accusations of "racism," and promptly exposed common lies peddled by scores of politicians and illegal alien advocates. The ones depicted above are just a sampling of the misrepresentations repeatedly voiced by people who are dying to hand out another amnesty. Sometimes they call it "The DREAM Act," and on other occasions they'll refer to their legalization plans as "earned citizenship" or "comprehensive immigration reform." Whatever dressed-up term they utilize, among the lies they invariably mouth in support are that we could never deport millions of illegal aliens and that states cannot regulate immigration, only the federal government has that authority.

And to those who have been making these arguments for years, Alabama has proven you wrong.

Things we learned in September:

1) You don't have to deport illegal aliens to rid yourselves of many of them. Even a whiff of immigration enforcement causes large numbers of the undocumented to run back to Mexico or states that accommodate illegals. Further, when they leave, they take a lot of their anchor babies with them.

2) States are not without authority to do many things to ensure that illegal immigration does not flourish. Immigration enforcement is not exclusively the domain of the federal government.

What is the moral of the story that is currently playing out?

Being saturated with illegal aliens is a choice. It's not something Obama, Napolitano or Bush can force upon state residents. When you elect representatives who hand out in-state tuition to illegal aliens, institute "hands off" policies for police like the LAPD's Special Order 40, proclaim large areas to be "sanctuary cities," and insist that people unlawfully here are "immigrants," you wind up with South Gate, Panorama City, Maywood, Pico Rivera, Fresno, Lancaster, Oxnard, Fontana, Hesperia, Pomona, Huntington Park, Corona, Van Nuys, Canoga Park, Santa Ana, annual deficits of billions of dollars, and the current state of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Alabama officials have chosen otherwise, and now the Americans who reside there can look forward to avoiding the fate of The Golden State.

The Non-Answers Speak Volumes About The GOP And Immigration

During yesterday's Republican presidential candidate debate in Florida, a question was directly put to the assembled politicians: "What would you do to remove the illegal immigrants from our country?"

In response, we were told lots of things that people who have been watching the GOP debates already know: Rick Santorum is proud to the be child of an Italian immigrant. Governor Perry thinks border fencing is appropriate in some areas, and not others. Governor Romney favors a more extensive border fence than than Governor Perry, and Newt Gingrich believes English should be the official language utilized by our government.

What we didn't learn, however, is what they would do to remove the illegal immigrants from our country.

This question came from a Tea Party member in Cincinnati, who probably wouldn't have had to ask it if it had been answered when it was offered up to the candidates a week earlier, in California. More specifically, on September 7, MSNBC trotted out a journalist from Telemundo who put this question to Michelle Bachmann: "Let's say that in 2012 or 2013 there's a fence, the border is secure, gasoline is $2.00 a gallon. What do you do then with eleven million people, as the Speaker says, many of whom have U.S. born children here, what do you do?"

In response, the congresswoman spoke about her discussions with Cubans, the crisis in Mexico, and many other things that were something other than an answer. To his credit, the reporter followed up her song and dance response with: "A quick thirty second rebuttal, on the specific question, the fence is built, the border's under control, what do you do with eleven and a half million people who are here without documents and with U.S. born children?"

Not only did Ms. Bachmann offer up more of the same evasiveness, none of the other candidates, many of whom are desperate for more face time in front of the cameras, gave the response that would have brought the conservative crowd to its feet: Illegal aliens will be removed from this country. Some by deportation proceedings, and others will leave voluntarily after my administration cracks down on employers of illegal aliens with laws already on the books, and when we implement nationwide use of the E-Verify system.

Why are we hearing, instead, endless refrains about not having "that conversation" until the border is secured? Why is no Republican debate participant capitalizing on this wonderful opportunity for additional media attention and way to endear himself to the conservative base? Simple, because none of them intends to do it, and no one wants to be accused of flip-flopping after he receives the GOP nomination.

Mainstream GOP presidential candidates are 1) owned by big business interests, and 2) intent upon winning a decent share of the Latino vote in the general election. Further, there are some, like Governor Huntsman, Congressman Paul, Speaker Gingrich and Governor Perry, who clearly believe that making today's illegal aliens permanent additions to our country is the right thing to do. Their records as elected officials, and/or writings, have already answered the questions, listed above, that they have made no effort to answer responsively in front of conservative audiences.

As for the others, whose positions are less clear based upon their actions as elected office holders, it doesn't matter what they believe. What is clearly most important to them is the ability to swing to the center after the Republican primary. Best interests of the country? Defending the rights of people who have played by the rules and applied to enter legally? Making jobs available with deportations? Reducing the burdens on public schools? Removing recipients of WIC benefits and Section 8 housing? Standing for principle and the Rule of Law? Sorry folks, as we have seen, these are clearly not the priorities of any Republican appearing on these debate forum stages. If they were, the answers to the direct questions (listed above) would have been a lot different. Unfortunately, what they're not saying is telling you everything you need to know.

Another Illegal Alien Nestled In The Obama Family Tree

President Obama is either a psychic or God has a sense of humor about U.S. immigration concerns. Given the way his family has almost immediately benefitted from his recent effort to sidestep the will of Congress, there just doesn't seem to be another plausible explanation for the events of the past couple weeks.

Uncle Omar

Here's what happened: On August 18, Janet Reno proudly announced that the Department of Homeland Security will be practicing a revised policy. Essentially, through the use of "prosecutorial discretion," her agency will only pursue deportation of illegal aliens who have previously been deported or have a record of serious criminal activity. In substance, President Obama just turned the rest of the country into Los Angeles. More specifically, an illegal alien will pretty much have to kill, rape or steal something significant before he gets even a sniff from immigration enforcement authorities. This was widely understood, by Republicans and Democrats alike, to be the President's attempt to win back Latino voters who have been peeved with him about his failure to deliver the amnesty he promised while campaigning back in 2008.

Aunt Zeituni

Then, only days after Reno's announcement, in an apparent attempt to celebrate the de facto amnesty his nephew just handed out to millions of illegal aliens in the U.S., Onyango Obama allegedly got liquored up and raced around the streets of Framingham, Massachusetts, before being pulled over and cited for driving under the influence. In fairness to Uncle Omar (as he was referred to in "Dreams From My Father"), it should be noted that he has yet to be convicted of the charge, and asserted after blowing a .14 into a breathalyzer that there was nothing wrong with the way he was operating his Mitsubishi. Further, he believes the police officers, who claim they had to slam on their brakes to avoid being hit by his vehicle, are mistaken because he heard no squealing tires at the time the collision was avoided.

Reportedly, when Uncle Omar was being booked he was advised that he had a right to a phone call, and the arrestee indicated his desire to contact the White House. Insofar as the rest of the booking process at the Framingham Police Station was concerned, it was quickly discovered that Onyango Obama is in violation of a deportation order that dates back almost twenty years.

If this is beginning to sound familiar, it's probably because Onyango's sister (the President's aunt), Zeituni Onyango, was also discovered to have violated a deportation order when she was residing in government funded housing and receiving government checks, during the time the President was making his initial run for the White House (Aunt Zeituni has since been granted asylum which magically occurred after Obama won the election in '08).

Since obtaining residency rights in the U.S., Aunt Zeituni's most significant contribution to the country has been to publicly complain how her taxpayer-funded life in the U.S. has been a nightmare, but that's a story for another time (A video of Aunt Zeituni voicing her grievances about her life in the United States: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XIXW23QzTw&feature=related).

Billy Carter

In retrospect, as events have unfolded, the President's actions are beginning to make sense. After all, he has good reason to want the rest of the U.S. to be more like Southern California. The reality is, he's very much like many Angelenos. Think about it. Barack Obama has multiple members of his family who are "sin papeles" (without papers) and receive all sorts of goodies from American taxpayers. Further, these folks can't seem to be bothered to abide by our laws regarding residency and driving. Lastly, the chances of any member of law enforcement doing anything about their illegal presence is close to zero. In short, the Obama Family would fit right in to Maywood, Pico Rivera, Huntington Park, Panorama City and many other Los Angeles neighborhoods that used to seem like parts of the United States.

If this complete disregard for the Rule of Law and common sense is troubling to you, we hope you will at least take some solace in the fact that former President Jimmy Carter is probably sitting on a porch in Georgia enjoying a great sense of relief. After all, prior to the shenanigans perpetrated by Obama's merry pair of undocumented relatives, Billy Carter was pretty much considered to be the most embarrassing presidential family member in modern history.

California Illegal Aliens Recently In The News

Pictured in this entry are Jorge Herrera and Sonia Hermosillo, people unlawfully in this country who have been making Southern California their home. The latter recently came to the public's attention when she allegedly tossed her infant from the fourth floor of a parking structure in Orange County. The former was desperately seeking the public's attention when he tossed a fit in front of a federal immigration building in L.A.

Jorge is demanding that we give him, and those similarly situated, legal residency, whereas Sonia would probably like nothing more at the moment than to be released from county jail.

What do these two have in common?

1. In addition to ignoring immigration regulations, neither one seems to care much for our nation's laws.

2. Jorge and Sonia have no business being inside the United States.

3. They're both costing California taxpayers a pretty penny.

In fairness to the former mother (her infant recently died from his injuries), there may be something wrong with her. In addition to her illegal presence in our country, that is. Based upon what has been reported, it is likely her legal team will assert some manner of diminished capacity defense as it has been asserted that she is suffering from depression. This is in contrast to Jorge, the Harbor College student who quite knowingly blocked an entrance to a federal immigration facility while being cheered on by members of the Brown Berets and National Day Laborer Organizing Network.

What isn't in question, however, is the tab these two are running up in government funded services. Assuming Jorge has attended public schools since arriving in California at the age of four, his grade school education has cost taxpayers well over $100,000. This price tag, of course, doesn't include the subsidized reduced college tuition rates for illegal aliens (AB 540) he's been receiving at the community college he attends, nor the law enforcement response expenses when he periodically takes part in public demonstrations (http://www.pcccourier.com/news/students-arrested-at-immigrant-rights-rally-1.2531127) to insist that he is entitled to stay here and be given a green card and social security number.

As for Sonia, well, anyone who has ever seen a medical bill can take a guess at the size of the tab she will be foisting upon Californians after her psychiatric evaluations, medical treatment, incarceration and trial expenses, and infant's medical bills come due. And, of course, we shouldn't figure in any maternity hospital costs for her pregnancy or WIC benefits she may have been receiving for her American-born infant, because it is common knowledge that illegal aliens all have medical insurance and don't take advantage of government food subsidy programs for children they couldn't afford in the first place.

We at DerailAmnesty.com are well aware, of course, that many on the west coast hold sentiments that differ from ours regarding the presence of illegal immigrants. For those reading this passage who feel a degree of sympathy for Jorge and Sonia, please take comfort in the knowledge that under the new guidelines for "selective prosecution" of immigration law violators, as recently put forth by the DHS, the chances of either of these two being deported any time soon are miniscule to none. In fact, if Sonia is acquitted at trial, and Jose ever winds up getting collared at one of his public exhibitions of self expression, they're both excellent candidates to apply for and receive work permits under the new standards authored by the Obama administration.

Barack's Best Amnesty

Five groups were key in the election of our President, three years ago:

1. Voters intent upon repudiating the eight years of the Bush Administration.
2. Blacks
3. Latinos
4. College educated white females
5. Independents

Fifteen months before Obama's second round with the national electorate, however, the landscape has changed significantly. Group One no longer exists. Group Two is enduring a 16% unemployment rate. Group Three is composed of many people who are hopping mad that the President has failed to deliver the amnesty he promised, on the campaign trail, during his first year in office; and Groups Four and Five are being buffeted about by a plummeting stock market and a greatly devalued U.S. dollar.

Let's be realistic, if a presidential election were held next week, Barack Obama would be a Dead Incumbent Walking. The members of the groups, listed above, who propelled him to victories in many swing states, would cast their ballots for him in reduced numbers. Additionally, the President could expect to receive even fewer votes from the groups that supported him in low numbers the first time around. Thanks to Obamacare, among Employed White Males and Voters 65 and Over, the former Illinois senator is viewed as even more of an extremist fringe character than he was in 2008.

In short, Mr. Obama must re-energize his base if he wants a chance to serve a second term. Given the amount of debt he has heaped upon the nation, however, there's little chance job growth will drastically improve. Further, the stock market is subject to financial fortunes overseas and a host of factors over which he has little or no control. Finally, he'd rather die than scrap his widely derided socialized medicine scheme, which he believes will be his great legacy ... so that leaves the amnesty. There are just two problems: The economy stinks and there hasn't been anything close to a majority of voters who have voiced support for the concept of rewarding immigration and employment law violators with residency rights.

What's a President to do? Pretend he's Congress, that's what! More specifically, Barack Obama has authorized the Department of Homeland Security to essentially stop seeking deportations of illegal alien college students (along with many others currently in the country unlawfully). If you can't get the law changed, just stop enforcing the parts you find politically inconvenient! In substance, the DHS will no longer be seeking the removal of illegal aliens brought here as children or those pursuing higher education. To get hauled into deportation proceedings, one is probably going to have to start killing, robbing or raping. And what of the 300,000 people currently in deportation proceedings? We've already been told that most of them can expect to receive work permits.

It's not quite the amnesty he or the illegals wanted, but hey, it's the best Mr. Obama can do under the circumstances. Truth be told, he probably never thought it would be this difficult. The DREAM Act was submitted to Congress twice during his presidency but those silly legislators just wouldn't pass it! Resultingly, rather than accept the will of the people as voiced by their elected representatives, he does an end around by forsaking his oath to uphold the Constitution and enforce federal laws.

Now, the only things that remains to be seen are how millions of Hispanic voters react, and just what other chicanery the President will conjure up in his desperate attempt to motivate his base of loyalist supporters to vote for him again next year.

Rick Perry Aids And Abets Illegal Immigration

With much fanfare today, Texas Governor Rick Perry proclaimed his candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination (http://www.rr.com/video/2091883396). Like all aspirants to the White House, the former Democrat intends to feature his successes and political accomplishments. As he will be attempting to appeal to a conservative audience, however, he probably won't highlight many of the things listed below. In fact, he's likely to try to minimize or outright deny them, while simultaneously attempting to feature some seemingly pro-law enforcement steps he's conveniently taken just prior to throwing his hat in the ring for the presidency.

The reality about Rick Perry, however, is not in question and is simply a matter of record. A portion of that record is as follows:

- Texas is second only to California in the size of its illegal alien population. During the decade Rick Perry has acted as Governor, the Lone Star State's number of illegal aliens and anchor babies has consistently grown.

- Governor Perry has rejected Arizona's SB 1070 immigration law enforcement measure, describing it as inappropriate for Texas.

- Rick Perry acted as the chairman of Al Gore's Texas campaign to obtain the Democratic Party presidential nomination, in 1988.

- Governor Perry has repeatedly voiced his opposition to building a border fence. He has derided the notion of completing the barrier as "nonsense" and "idiocy."

- Governor Perry signed a bill granting taxpayer subsidized in-state college tuition rates to illegal aliens in Texas. Perry happily boasted of this accomplishment when making an official visit to Mexico.

- The Governor from Texas has opposed the use of E-Verify, a free system available to employers that allows them to check whether or not they are hiring someone who can legally work in the U.S.

- While speaking in Mexico in 2007, Perry called for a "... free flow of individuals between these two countries who want to work and want to be an asset to our country and to Mexico.”

Governor Perry has endured criticism from some as being similar to another Texas governor, George W. Bush. We at DerailAmnesty.com feel that's unfair, however. After all, George W. Bush never lied about his desires to accomodate, and ultimately grant legalization to, millions of illegal aliens. He was very up front about his intention to achieve "comprehensive immigration reform." Perhaps a more realistic comparison is made between Rick Perry and another faux conservative, John McCain. Senator McCain engaged in much the same type of about-face, tough-talk-on-immigration and empty posturing, when he desperately attempted to salvage his senate seat last year, as Rick Perry has in the months leading up to his presidential run.

In polite and educated contemporary society, you can't say ni--er or sp--. Further, Jews can't be referred to as k--es, and it's really not acceptable to call an Italian a d--o. In the past few years, even fag--t has fallen into disfavor. These are considered taboo terms, and most Americans agree that they constitute a form of profanity.

And since people who use them are commonly frowned upon, you can bet your last dollar that many who passionately desire another immigration amnesty, would love to add the terms illegal aliens and illegal immigrants to this list.

In fact, the folks at ColorLines.com feel so strongly about this topic, they have sponsored a Drop The I-Word Campaign, that is endorsed with a spiffy website (DropTheIWord.com) and nicely produced video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6GcPft7mqU)

Now, in fairness to self-styled progressives, the people at Colorlines.com, who describe their website as one that provides award-winning reporting, analysis, and solutions to today's racial justice issues, are hardly the first illegal alien cheerleaders to promote this notion.

A few years prior to his recent felony conviction in L.A. Superior Court, Nativo Lopez, of the Mexican-American Political Association, burst into anger on national cable television when he was asked a question about "a boycott of all illegal aliens in this country." He bellowed that illegal aliens is a derisive term. He added that "You don't say kike, patty, WOP, OK, you don't say nigger!" Lopez went on to scold the show's host that "You're using language that's offensive to me and offensive to my people!"

Fast forward to 2010 when Janet Murguia was part of a well-organized (and successful) campaign to have the Lou Dobbs Show taken off CNN. Dobbs, someone who was well known for his opposition to illegal immigration, was described by Murguia, who heads the National Council for La Raza, as someone "handing hate a microphone."

Now some listening to the comments of Mr. Lopez and Ms. Murguia might be a bit befuddled. Why are they arguing about the language? If illegal aliens are so great, why don't they tell us how important they are to the nation, and necessary for our continued prosperity? And the answer to that question is: They already did that and it didn't work.

That's why they're now hurling accusations and complaining of "hate speech."

The reality is that people who want a broad scale amnesty for millions of illegal aliens have been completely unable to persuade a majority of American voters. In fact, they really haven't even gotten close, although it certainly hasn't been due to a lack of effort. Specifically, U.S. citizens have been told that illegal aliens:

A) ...only take the jobs that Americans won't do.
B) ... are just another addition to a nation built by immigrants.
C) ... only came here for a better life.
D) ... are doing what American citizens would do, if they had been born into poverty in another country.
E) ... will be a net gain of over a trillion dollars if they're put on "a pathway to citizenship."
F) ... are crucial to the health of the American economy.

G) ... only come here to work.
H) ... are a fundamental component of a multicultural society of which we can be proud.
I) ... who are legalized by "comprehensive immigration reform," won't really be receiving the benefits of an amnesty. Rather, they'll be acquiring "earned citizenship."

And all of these assertions (and others) have failed in the marketplace of ideas. Sure, some people buy into them, but most don't. Republicans and Democrats alike have tried to sell this package, and people simply haven't been lining up to buy it. National polls repeatedly show that a majority of Americans want current immigration and employment laws enforced.

Well, that didn't work, so what's next? After all, community organizers and SEIU thugs can't be everywhere to intimidate Tea Partiers and conservatives, so how are we going to manage the national debate? Simple, and right from the George Orwell playbook -- You don't have a right to speak about it freely, and say derisive things about those here unlawfully, because your language and ideas are unacceptable.

More simply, intimidation and speech regulation are the far left's substitutes for a convincing argument. These things are intended to silence those who disagree.

In support of this censorship effort, people who visit DropTheIWord.com are presented with a trio of substantively bankrupt assertions. The term "illegal" is 1) racist, 2) dehumanizing, and 3) a legally inaccurate term that confuses the debate and is never used by judges and attorneys

Almost needless to say, these positions are transparent nonsense. Firstly, "illegal alien" describes a foreign national who is unlawfully in the United States. Illegal aliens come in every skin tone and members of the public are more than aware of this. Proponents of the "racism" argument will assert that although illegal aliens come in different colors, most of the undocumented here are Latinos, and therefore it is associated with people wrapped in brown skin. That's true. Most illegal aliens are Latin Americans ... and the large majority of serial killers are white, and a disproportionately high number of people engaging in security fraud offenses are Jews. Does that mean "serial killer" and "stock swindler" are now bigoted hate references for caucasians and Hebrews?

Secondly, "illegal alien" is hardly a "dehumanizing" term. Everyone knows what an illegal alien is. When a listener hears the phrase, a picture pops into his head, and it isn't of an insect, bear, reptile or little green man hopping out of a flying saucer. When people think of illegal aliens, they think of large families, children in need of schooling, and people bearing a host of consumer wants and desires - all very homo sapiens specific traits. Indeed, there are pejorative words used to refer to those who come here unlawfully. Cockroaches, locusts, and parasites are all derisive references to the undocumented that suggest sub-human characterstics. "Illegal aliens," however, falls well outside the boundaries of the territory occupied by such ill-concieved language.

Thirdly, there is nothing "confusing" or "inaccurate" about "illegal aliens." The general public is not unclear or "mixed-up" about what the term means. Further, the assertion that legal practitioners don't use the terms "illegal aliens" or "illegal immigrants" is outright fiction, period (http://www.gand.uscourts.gov/pdf/111cv1804_order.pdf).

In short, free expression seems to be a priority of illegal alien advocates when they cheer on the undocumented who parade through our streets, waving foreign flags, and demanding legalization. Any pronouncements by these marchers that opponents are "Hitler," "the Klan" or "Nazis" are just part of a robust debate protected by our nation's First Amendment. Start talking about "illegal immigrants," however, and clearly, the person voicing his opinion is conveying "hate" that needs to be restricted.

It is our hope that this blog's readers will see the Murguias, Lopezes and Colorlines.com folks for what they are. Would-be bullies who would love to pressure you into just keeping quiet on a topic about which they don't have a chance of winning a real argument.

What's Wrong With This Picture (Part II)?

If you're feeling a sense of disbelief about the recent downgrade of our country's credit worthiness, you're probably not a Californian. Here on the west coast, we've been leading the country in budget shortfall for some time. Consequently, all this debt deluge is sorta' old hat to folks in the Golden State. California has an annual budget deficit over twice the size of any other state's, and its residents have endured cutbacks and closures as a result. The bills for irresponsible government are coming due in California, and we have been witnessing the types of austerity and roll backs in government services that the rest of the nation will be experiencing, as a matter of necessity, very shortly.

That's not to say, however. that our state has become the model of fiscal responsibility. The same left-wing nitwits who plunged us into this fiscal abyss are still running the state, and continue to conduct themselves in a fashion that would leave any rational person wondering exactly who these politicians believe they represent.

Case in point, here are three recent local news stories or notices, all related to California's response to financial problems:

1. Services to California's disabled, mentally unsound, and elderly are slashed as part of Governor Brown's new budget.

On Sunday, July 24, 2011, a representative of DerailAmnesty.com was present in the City of Los Angeles for the purpose of filming a political rally. Later that evening, the footage shot on that occasion was edited, organized and produced into three separate clips/videos, by the same individual who shot the film. Shortly after the video was uploaded on to the Youtube channel, GeauxNOSaints, under the title Critics of the So. Central Los Angeles Tea Party, said video was non-permissively copied, re-edited, and made available to the public. As we learned, one or more members of the San Diego Tea Party engaged in the above-described copying, re-editing, and ultimately posted it on the San Diego Tea Party's Youtube channel.

The San Diego Tea Party version of the DerailAmnesty.com video is violative of multiple provisions of federal copyright law. Further, it is a somewhat inaccurate depiction of the events that were recorded this past Sunday. More specifically, one or more of the persons appearing in the pirated version voices remarks that are presented out of context, and the events depicted in said version are chronologically inaccurate.

Once this matter came to the attention of the staff of DerailAmnesty.com, remedial/corrective measures were instigated immediately. Despite our best efforts, however, the copyright violative version of the video appeared (prior to removal) on the following sites:

On an informal note, when this matter came to management's attention, we promptly located and contacted a representative of the San Diego Tea Party.

To our knowledge, that is the only contact we've ever had with the San Diego Tea Party. When this incident began to unfold, we took an informal head count around the office and no one is aware of knowing any member of the San Diego Tea Party. In fact, we'd never heard of the San Diego Tea Party, until yesterday.

After checking around a bit, the few names we could procure that are associated with the San Diego Tea Party are not any activists with whom we are familiar.

Further, while I was present in front of the Convention Center shooting film, I don't recall seeing any signs or paraphernalia from the San Diego Tea Party. There were members from several Southern California area Tea Party groups in attendance, as well as Minutemen, members of CCIR, Save Our State, and America's Black Shield, however, no one, to our knowledge, from the SDTP.

In short, we simply don't know these characters and this whole thing really hit us out of the blue. We're still scrambling around in an attempt to clean this up, but are committed to making this right.

The Murder Of Robert Rosas And Border Security

Tomorrow will be the second anniversary of the murder of Border Patrol Agent, Robert Rosas. On July 23, 2009, Rosas was lured to a spot near the border, and attacked, by three Mexican nationals who intended to rob him. It was established at trial that he was shot eight times in the head, neck and torso as he lay on the ground.

Since that time, two very different federal government employees have made divergent remarks:

Janet Napolitano, Director of the Department of Homeland Security:

"We need to be up front and clear about what’s really happening along our borders. Our border communities are safe."

"There is a perception that the border is worse now than it has ever been. That is wrong. The border is better now than it has ever been."

Shawn Moran, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council (statement made at the sentencing of one of Agent Rosas's attackers) :

"The border, no matter what the agency or the Department of Homeland Security tells you, is not secure. This is a perfect example of what happens. And people running this agency who say the border is secure ... it is not. Robert Rosas would be alive if this border was secure."

In fairness to Secretary Napolitano, it should be noted that she issued neither of the above statements at the funeral of Agent Rosas, nor at the sentencing of one of the illegal alien criminals by whom he was murdered.

Of course, that probably had something to do with the fact that she was noticeably absent from both events.

AB 540 - What's Wrong With This Picture?

If you have children or pay taxes in California, there are two things you should definitely know:

- The cost of tuition for Californians at University of California campuses has more than tripled in the last ten years (http://facts.ucdavis.edu/annual_fees_and_tuition.lasso).

- The cost of tuition for illegal alien Californians at University of California campuses, within the past ten years, dropped over 70% (http://tinyurl.com/3hxb46x).

As this blog entry is being written, each of the following is also true:

- A U.S. citizen from Phoenix, Reno or Denver, who took 12 units at San Jose State this past semester, paid $7254.00 in tuition and fees.

- An illegal alien who lives in Los Angeles, Watsonville or Santa Clara, who took 12 units at San Jose State this past semester, paid $2790.00 in tuition and fees.

- California community colleges, California State universities, and branches of the University of California, have substantially reduced the number of courses available and laid off staff members due to budget cuts. The budget cuts have been in excess of 1.2 billion dollars.

- California taxpayers will be subsidizing, at a total cost approaching one million dollars, the reduced tuition rates available to California illegal aliens who take courses this coming year at Santa Ana College, Los Angeles City College, the College of San Mateo, and Harbor College.

- Full-time student tuition for an illegal alien in California, at UC Santa Cruz, will be $11,220.00 this coming year. This is a substantially reduced rate that is $22,878.00 below the full price. For each illegal alien who attends UCSC and receives this discounted rate, California taxpayers will be paying the extra $22,878.00.

- Approximately 40% of all illegal alien college students in the U.S., live in California. Every one of them that spent three or more years in one of our state's grade schools, and graduated, is legally entitled to taxpayer subsidized in-state tuition at public colleges and universities.

Perhaps you're wondering how this came about.

In October of 2001, our state legislators in Sacramento passed AB 540. Assembly Bill 540 provides subsidized/reduced tuition for California's illegal alien college students (http://ab540.com/). It was first implemented in 2002 and if you've been paying taxes in California, you've been picking up the tab for this since that time.

Currently, tuition and costs are skyrocketing at UC's and CSU's. Lots of middle-class California families are having a hard time affording these increased expenses, or are seeing their children graduate with considerable college loan debt.

And how are our elected leaders responding to this crisis? California legislators in Sacramento are working to pass AB 130 and AB 131, which will provide scholarships, grants and loans to illegal alien college students (http://tinyurl.com/3fbn6b4). Governor Brown, when he hasn't been too busy advocating on behalf of tax increases to solve California's budget problems, has indicated that he intends to sign these bills into law when they reach his desk.

The lessons of Georgia and Arizona have been planted squarely in front of any Californian who is willing to look - Enforcement of immigration laws works.

In fact, even the threat or appearance of upcoming enforcement causes many families with illegal aliens to head elsewhere.

The photograph that appears with this entry is from a recent issue of the Tifton Gazette. It is a snapshot of fifty plus Mexican nationals awaiting a bus that is destined for Mexico. They are standing around in a parking lot of a local supermarket preparing to be driven home. Keep in mind this is all taking place with a federal court having disallowed/suspended two provisions of Georgia's new immigration enforcement legislation.

Remember, Californians, that we don't have to live as we do. It is a choice we have made. Our elected officials have set up numerous sanctuary cities, and treated employment and residency regulations as if they are optional. The Golden State has the largest population of illegal immigrants in the nation, and it has achieved such for more reasons than geographical location.

The evidence of recent events in Georgia and Arizona reveals that the warnings about having to spend billions on deportation proceedings are absurd. People who worry about jail and unemployment commonly leave of their own free will.

Thousands of families with illegal aliens fled Arizona, and now they are fleeing Georgia. Enforcement of laws in California would result in the same reaction, only on a much larger scale.

Something WIC This Way Comes

If you're reading this blog, chances are you are at least somewhat familiar with U.S. immigration issues. You're also probably aware that demographic changes are impacting our nation. More specifically, we have a booming Latino population. What you may not know, however, is for how much of it you're paying.

If you reside in San Jose, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Gwinnett, Houston, Phoenix or Chicago, and are familiar with local public schools, you're probably aware of the dismal graduation rates of illegal aliens and their children, and what de facto babysitting services (with free lunches!) many campuses have become. However, don't think for a second that you stop subsidizing the upbringing of other people's children when they step off campus.

Case in point, WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a government program that provides free fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, cereals, and other healthy foods for children who were brought into this world by parents who can't afford them (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMoveI0Bpww&feature=related). Well, who commonly has children in America these days that they can't afford? Single mothers and Hispanics.

Recently, we learned that Latinos are now 16% of the national population. However, the National Council of La Raza reports that Latinos are 42% of all WIC recipients (http://action.nclr.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=4283). In fact, about 90% of very young Hispanic kids in America have parents who receive WIC vouchers and benefits.

WIC officials assume two things: 1) Lots of people in the United States have had children they can't raise without repeated government handouts, and 2) most of these people are nearly clueless as to how to properly feed a kid. Hey, given the overrepresentation of obesity among Hispanics in the U.S., below age 18, they're probably right.

Now why is this happening? Is there something wrong with people from Latin America? Hardly. People hailing from Mexico and Central America are as capable as anybody else of properly feeding and caring for kids. But, and this is key, the U.S. isn't absorbing "Latin Americans" and their American born children. Our nation is getting the bottom rung of the educational and socio-economic ladder that comes in from El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, etc. Illegal aliens are not commonly bankers, accountants, college grads, stock traders or people who had much success in their homelands. The middle-class and wealthy are not the ones skittering across Arizona deserts, hopping fences and paying coyotes to lead them past the Border Patrol. And they sure aren't the ones who are usually signing up for taxpayer-funded food programs.

Now, you may think that this is all very unfortunate, but you can't be asked, as an American taxpayer, to pay for all this. You have your own expenses and financial problems, right? Please, don't kid yourself. The NCLR has recently blasted e-mails (below) out to that organization's members and supporters. Make no mistake, having Americans continue to pay for WIC is exactly what they expect:

The Latino community’s access to WIC, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants, and Children, is under immediate threat. The House of Representatives’ Appropriations Committee has voted to cut WIC funding by nearly $650 million, which will result in up to 350,000 mothers, infants, and children falling off the program. Given that Latinos make up two-fifths (42%) of all program participants, the Hispanic community is expected to be among the hardest hit.

WIC has been an essential nutrition assistance program for Latinos and has long been proven to prevent many of the costly conditions that result from hunger and malnutrition. In fact, nearly nine out of ten Latino infants born in the United States participated in WIC in 2008. This program has been especially important for Hispanic expectant mothers, who are less likely to have access to prenatal care and medical information.

Hispanic families became the hungriest families in 2008, and Latino children now make up nearly 40% of all children living with hunger in the U.S. The last thing we need is to take food out of the mouths of vulnerable mothers, babies, and young children.The full House will have a chance to reject these cuts. Not On The Menu

The Supreme Court has recently decided that states are not entirely without power to enforce immigration laws, and this has amnesty advocates terribly worried. What they've been trying to sell, "comprehensive immigration reform," has failed to attract a lot of buyers. The idea that allowing most illegal aliens to stay, pay a fine, learn English, pass a background check, etc. is not amnesty, or more importantly, is an acceptable solution, has clearly been rejected.

Further, the accusations of "racism" and "xenophobia," complaints of mass deportations being impossible, and suggestions that illegal aliens only take jobs Americans don't want, seem to have changed few opinions.

Conditions suggest that to sell it, the people hawking it have to modify it. Therefore, after a brainstorming session that included lots of Starbucks beverages, the staff at DerailAmnesty.com cooked up these proposed alterations, that might succeed. Folks on the left, in our humble opinions, will have a better chance of obtaining the mass granting of residency rights for millions of illegal aliens, if they incorporate one or more of the following changes.

By the way, we harbor no delusions that people who want to hand out an amnesty to our undocumented population will utilize any of these suggestions (There's a good reason this piece is entitled "Not On The Menu"). We simply believe that if they did, they'd stand a better chance of obtaining the "pathway to citizenship" they desire.

1. Put a cap on the number of illegal immigrants, currently in the U.S., who will qualify for the proposed legalization. In 1985, the American public was assured there were about 1 million people unlawfully present in the country. But only a year later, 2.7 million people were on their way to being amnestied in. In 2011, we are advised that there are about 11 million of the undocumented inside our borders. Under what is currently proposed, however, there is nothing to prevent 25 to 30 million or more illegals qualifying for the so-called pathway to citizenship.

Putting a ceiling, of 10 or 11 million, on the number who would be legalized would go a long way to allay the fears of skeptical Americans who worry about a repeat of IRCA, and want to avoid being overrun with poorly educated and financially desperate newcomers.

2. Make those illegal aliens who want to be legalized really go "to the back of the line." As a defense of their legalization plan, amnesty advocates like George Bush and Lindsey Graham have argued that illegal aliens must "go to the back of the line," behind other people who have applied to enter lawfully. This suggestion is patently false. As per the terms of what the McCains, Obamas, and Bidens of this world have proposed, illegal aliens would remain here and not become citizens for approximately ten years. Well, that is simply not "the back of the line." Many people who have applied to live in America, with hopes of one day earning citizenship, are in their home countries awaiting entry visas. Outside the U.S. is the real "back of the line."

If someone is truly desirous of becoming an American, regrets what he has done, and wants to make amends, he can return to his home country, pay the back taxes, undergo the background check, learn English, and re-enter the U.S. after those who lined up ahead of him have been given permission to come to our shores. It might take a few years, but it would separate out the illegals who truly want to embrace America and its culture, from the ones seeking to simply take advantage of a dressed-up handout.

3. Limit the amnesty to illegal aliens over the age of 40. Younger people have more time to leave the country and attempt to obtain traditional rights to enter, and are far more likely to have children they can scarcely afford, if they stay.

4. Reduce the number of future admissions to the U.S. from countries that have supplied the undocumented immigrants. 70% of illegal aliens currently in the States are believed to be from Mexico. The next largest group hails from El Salvador. Try appeasing skeptics of the legalization proposal with an offset. If 8 million of the beneficiaries of the legalization proposal are Mexicans, reduce the number of Mexicans allowed to enter legally during the next ten years, by 8 million. If 1.5 million are Salvadoreans, reduce that country's allotment of future U.S. entrants by 1.5 million, during the next decade. This could be done for every country, based simply upon the number of illegal aliens we absorb in the amnesty, from each nation.

Note: Were any or all of these changes made to what is now being proposed, the staff at DerailAmnesty.com would still be, to a man, opposed to it. However, we recognize that we are more conservative on this issue than most Americans and, if acted upon, our suggestions for fine tuning might win amnesty advocates enough support to get most of what they want. Fortunately, at least for us, they are unlikely to heed our advice any time soon.

California's Accelerating Demise

The end is nearing, and it's not that far away anymore. Oh, make no mistake, California will still be here, but very shortly, it won't be much like anything that people who have lived here for awhile have known.

The culture, the quality of life, pristine environment, and enviable public school systems are rapidly being segregated into ever-shrinking areas of affluence.

Anyone who has read this blog knows that the focus here is on illegal immigration. Is the presence of people who are unlawfully in the country the only thing that has led to the Golden State's desperate financial and demographic situation, however? Clearly, no. There's been plenty of irresponsible spending by California politicians that is, at most, only marginally related to the millions of the undocumented who have set up house here.

Still, you can't escape the facts; facts that are so plain and obvious that one doesn't need to hold an MBA degree to see that much of California's economic ruin has resulted from nearly unfettered unlawful immigration from Latin America. We're rapidly absorbing the poorest and least educated that countries in that area of the world gladly send north, and the bills for having done this are coming due. California's illegal alien and anchor baby population is well over twice the size of any other state's, and not surprisingly, our state's budget deficit is also over twice the size of any other state's.

When you lack money, you borrow. California certainly has, out the yin yang. In fact, California is so far in debt that its credit rating is the lowest of all 50 states. And when you can't borrow anymore, you do without. California is ...

Because we have been so busy building public schools (among other things) to keep up with an exploding Hispanic population, and repeatedly raising public school teachers' compensation to convince educators to work in dreary academic conditions surrounded by limited-English learners and street criminals, we essentially stopped constructing prisons. Well the illegal alien children, and the offspring of current and former illegal aliens, who now make up the bulk of public school students here, have been graduating at rates below 50%.

Where does a person with little education, who has been raised in a family where skirting laws is everyday conduct, commonly wind up? You guessed it. Over half of the people in California jails and prisons are current and former illegal aliens, and their children. In fact, we have so many illegals and anchor babies that our "gray bar hotels" are stuffed. Jam-packed to the degree that the Supreme Court recently ruled they violate 8th Amendment protections against cruel and unusual punishment (http://tinyurl.com/3ffypn4).

OK, so just build more prisons, right? Sure ... with what money? We already spent it on teachers, free public school breakfasts and lunches, new grade school campuses, discounted college tuition for illegal aliens, and prison guards who watch over our growing population of people who didn't seem to benefit from the money we've been laying out to educate/babysit them.

The bottom line: California will be releasing tens of thousands of convicts because government officials don't have any other choice.

Therefore, when we say the Golden State "won't be much like anything that people who have lived here for awhile have known," that isn't hyperbole or agenda motivated exaggeration. It's simply reality. The most basic function of government is to protect people and property. California's government increasingly can't because the money is all gone, and so are many of the citizen taxpayers who never wanted any part of this grand liberal immigration experiment and politically correct nonsense, to begin with.

If The Southern Border Is So Secure ...

Barack Obama visited El Paso yesterday and spoke strongly in support of his desire to award residency rights to millions of illegal aliens. He stated that great strides have been taken to secure the border and, therefore, in his view, it is time to provide a "pathway to citizenship" because he has certainly upheld his end of the bargain (A portion of the President's speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okGm2KEKLdw).

Naturally, Mr. Obama was working hard to appease a largely sympathetic audience and, therefore, didn't take questions from individuals who disagree with his assessment of conditions in the U.S., near Mexico. Further, staff members from DerailAmnesty.com were not present yesterday in Texas, however, were we ever granted an opportunity to speak to our chief executive, here are ten questions we'd love to hear him answer:

Mr. President, if the border is so secure ...

1. Why have elected officials in Arizona been pleading with you to enforce federal laws? Why are they spending millions fighting your administration in court, in an attempt to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into their state?

2. How did Border Patrol Officer Brian Terry lose his life at the hands of armed members of a Mexican "rip crew," while he was performing his job on American soil?

3. Why do organizations, like Enrique Morones's Border Angels, routinely leave water in strategic locations in the desert, so people unlawfully crossing from Mexico won't die from dehydration?

4. Why did the Government Accountability Office just release a report stating that less than 45% of our border with Mexico is under control?

5. Why are there signs on the edge of thousands of acres of Arizona park land, advising Americans to stay out because of the presence of foreign narco-traffickers and human smugglers?

6. Why do dozens of ranchers, who live miles north of the Mexican border, repeatedly testify when called upon, that large groups of crossers routinely traverse their properties, often times breaking into homes in search of food and water? Are they lying?

8. Why are there endless piles of empty water jugs, garbage bags and discarded food packaging in the desert, on both sides of the Mexican-American border?

10. How did Rob Krentz get killed on his ranch by an illegal crosser, twenty miles north of the border, who then fled back into Mexico?

Somos Posers

Syndicated columnist, Ruben Navarette, recently penned a piece wherein he bewails the failure of the GOP to embrace Somos Republicans, a newly formed organization over which the mainstream press has been fawning. The headline above his article, as it appears in the San Bernardino Sun, reads: Republicans turning their backs on conservative Latinos.

This statement is inaccurate. The base of the Republican Party is unimpressed with this outfit because they're not genuine conservatives.

Liberals during the 1980's didn't flock in huge numbers to any of Lyndon LaRouche's campaigns because, despite his party affiliation, he wasn't a Democrat, he was a nut. The members of Somos Republicans are similarly situated. They can register as members of the GOP to their hearts' content, but they're not real Republicans. They are a carefully calculated effort to emphasize the notion that by failing to support amnesty for illegal aliens, the Republicans are chasing off a rapidly growing portion of the national population.

At best, Somos Republicans personnel, who endlessly clamor for "comprehensive immigration reform," are members of the GOP in the same fashion as George W. Bush, Meg Whitman, John McCain and Arnold Schwarzenegger. True conservatives don't respect their views, but consider them the lesser of evils in comparison to the Democrats who ran against them.

In his column, Navarette also describes Somos Republicans members as conservative regarding taxes. Again, this is inaccurate, and transparently so. Legalizing millions of the undocumented in this country would result in trillions of dollars in expenses to Social Security, Medicare and a host of other government programs. There's nothing appealing to those on the right about going Obama with the national debt.

Mr. Navarette feels passionately about the immigration issue. He desperately wants a "path to citizenship" for millions residing in this country unlawfully. He writes about immigration frequently and has made numerous efforts in his column to advocate for this viewpoint. This article wasn't the first and it's unlikely to be the last, however, it's sure to be one of the least successful. And if he doesn't understand why, here's the explanation: In 2011, in the GOP scheme of things, RINOs are out of fashion and Tea Party adherents are cool and hip. Being a Neocon is so fifteen minutes ago. November's election told you everything you need to know. So parading around a bunch of faux conservatives, irrespective of skin color and ethnicity, is about as likely to excite folks on the right as a Jeb Bush presidential run.

A Hollywood Production At Dodger Stadium

Mayor Villaraigosa and Chief Beck are shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn that the environment in some sections of Dodger Stadium is considered dangerous!
And if you believe that, you also probably expect the Clippers to contend for a championship next season.

Directly above this paragraph is a snapshot of three people pretending they intend to fix a problem. From left to right: 1. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who heads the largest sanctuary city in the country. 2. Frank McCourt, the current Dodgers owner who had a vacant Stadium Security Chief position on opening day, and is terrified of scaring away many gang affiliated members of his team's fan base who buy overpriced beer and Dodgers gear. 3. LAPD Chief, Charlie Beck, who refuses to enforce numerous laws against illegal aliens because Villaraigosa would never let him keep his job if he did.

At this news conference, these three are seen assuring the public that armed officers will now be conspicuosly visible on game days and absolutely no shenanigans are going to be tolerated. Like many Hollywood productions, of course, these representations have little bearing on reality. Here's what will actually happen: Cops will be out in force during the next two or three homestands until the national attention dies down. Later on in the season (and not much later), the homies from South Gate, Maywood, Canoga Park, San Fernando, Pico Rivera, Long Beach, Palmdale and a couple dozen other blighted, formerly respectable neighborhoods in Southern California, will be back in the upper decks and the pavilions.

Why? Simple. They make up a large chunk of what Los Angeles is now. Frank McCourt no more wants to shoo away a significant portion of the folks who buy tickets, beer and caps, than Los Angeles public school teachers want them to leave and take their children, and the reason for their union jobs, with them.

Make no mistake, this is nothing new. These nicely dressed gentlemen are not surprised by what happened. They're just in public relations mode now because this story of the attack on the Giants fan received some national attention.

Below are comments made two years ago, beneath articles in the L.A. Times, after a stabbing occurred on opening day in 2009. Cut, paste and google them if you like. This is reality in Los Angeles, the nation's largest sanctuary city for illegal aliens.

What a surprise...DUH If anyone has been to a Dodger game lately it is like going to a Mexican gang outing. I paid 70 bucks for a loge seat only to have a crowd of tattooed gangbangers who obviously did not have seat tickets crowd me out. I complained to an usher and all I got was maybe I should be the one to move. I won't be going to any more Dodger games.

Maybe the stadium should be used by the INS instead!!!

As a San Franciscan who has spent his fair share of time in LA, I've been shocked by the state of security at Dodger Stadium in recent years. Back in the 80s, I would go to games and remark on the beach ball mellowness in the stands (esp compared to the 'Stick), but nowadays, games in LA might as well be played by the Raiders.

And, it's not just the low paid security, either. Last year, I was at a game where a woman wearing a Giants hat was literally knocked down the stairs of an aisle by a blindside from another woman and then had beer thrown on her. This shocked even the Dodger fans sitting around me. I rushed to the LAPD that were standing 30 feet away and asked them to do something. They responded that it was "private property" and they had no authority. They didn't even bother to see of the woman was okay.

After the game, have fun in the parking lot if you are wearing orange and black. I'm all for witty rejoinders on the deficiencies of the opposing side, but at Dodger Stadium you only get F yous by people who wouldn't know a sacrifice fly from a Texas Leaguer.

Unfortunately this IS a Hispanic gang problem, and I'm not afraid to say it. I never see White skinheads running around causing a brawl. I don't see Asians kickin’ it up and acting wild. Blacks hardly even go to the stadium much less want to be seen in Echo Park at night. So to all the overly sensitive Mexicans out there, I did not say it's a Hispanic problem, it's a HISPANIC GANG problem. Wait until one of the Hispanic gang members shoots you and your kid in the face when he's eating a churro and maybe you will be more concerned about SAFETY then about being included in a statement you were not a part of in the first place.

So yes the lovely LAPD, who go out of their way to avoid gang members in the first place, are only serving the City Council who are a bunch of illegal-alien loving morons. It's a sad fact, but I feel somewhat safer at a Lakers game, and a whole lot safer at an Angels or Yankees game. Dodger Stadium is no place to bring a family. Until they get serious about security and ENFORCE rules and laws it will not change.

These stupid Mexican Gang members need to collectively burn in hell. It’s embarrassing as a Mexican-American to have to witness these idiots give my people a bad name. Putos Welfariados!

I feel bad for the opposing fans. One thing is to heckle and give a hard time, but these gang bangers are literally looking to fight someone and potentially kill them. I would never ever take my kids to a dodger game unless I have really good seats so that I can sit with the civilized folk. Of course we still have the parking lot which is a battle ground in of itself.

The McCourts need to team up with LAPD because its gotten to the point that I fear for my safety. It’s really pathetic. Maybe we can bomb the pavilions and get rid of 15-20 thousand gang bangers all at once.

Seriously though, as much as it hurts me to say this, they need to stop selling booze in the paviliions and they need to not allow tailgating (an enforce it).

Hell, they need to screen for bald heads and clothing. Hah! You resemble an "ese" you don’t get in. They should also have police checking for warrants at the door. I’m sure the pavilions may end up empty.

Dodger Stadium Is Los Angeles

Dodger Stadium has become what Los Angeles has become. It's gotten more dangerous and it's populated with more criminals. Therefore, there is no reason for anyone familiar with America's second largest city to be surprised by the recent incident that has left Giants fan, Bryan Stow, struggling for his life at a local hospital.

Sporting event attendance at the ballpark in Chavez Ravine has become a microcosm of life in Southern California. The dwindling number of middle class and wealthy folks are simply unwise to buy tickets in certain sections. The left field pavilion, and much of the upper decks, are ghetto and gangster. Neck tattoos, shaved heads, unmarried mothers with boyfriends on probation, people who identify themselves by the area code in which they reside and have children they can't afford, have become as common at Dodger Stadium as the beer they swill down before and during the game.

Why Dodger games and not Lakers and Clippers games? Because MLB tickets are cheaper than NBA tickets. Cholos, WIC recipients, and other assorted hood rats are present in much smaller numbers in the seats near where Kobe and Pau play.

Los Angeles produces criminal riff raff like no other location in the United States, and it's been that way for years now because it's a sanctuary city for illegal aliens; the biggest one in the country. We have tossed out the welcome mat for the impoverished, mostly from Latin America, who are largely uneducated and care little for laws they deem inconvenient. These illegal aliens have children, lots of them. Most of these kids fail to graduate from local high schools, but they do manage to nurture a sense of resentment and bigotry that is pervasive in poor and working class neighborhoods in California.

Bryan Stow got jumped by two guys, on opening day, in a jam packed parking lot. According to newspaper reports, the beating took place in front of no fewer than a hundred witnesses. And if you can't understand why the thugs haven't been caught, then you don't know L.A.

Let a long time Angeleno clue you in. Firstly, the suspects look like about half a million people who live here. Secondly, these guys were Latinos attacking a white victim surrounded by other Latinos who were walking through the parking lot. Under these circumstances, the chances of many witnesses or people who know the attackers giving a helpful report to the authorities are about the same as the Celtics receiving a standing ovation at Staples Center.

Mr. Stow was nearly beaten to death at a ball game because some of the locals deemed his Giants jacket to be the wrong colors in the wrong neighborhood. If that sounds crazy to you, that's a good thing. It probably means that you don't live in a city where 3rd world values and conditions have been proliferating since the 1986 immigration amnesty.

Legalize Karma

Dov Charney has done quite well for himself. He started American Apparel and began to make and sell clothing from his headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. He's made millions.

Dov Charney made a lot of that money with illegal alien workers. He wasn't embarrassed by it nor did he really attempt to deny it. In fact, it became a rallying point for him and his business. If the public complained of the education, medical and quality of life costs that come with large populations of illegal aliens, he often delivered members of his workforce at marches and protests. He produced thousands of "Legalize LA" shirts that became "must have" items for local amnesty advocates.

When Arizona attempted to protect its citizenry from climbing taxation costs, and a growing drug trade from Mexico, by enacting immigration enforcement laws, he was incensed and produced even more shirts that could be commonly seen on angry family members of illegal aliens

Well, that was then and this is now. Dov Charney and the management of American Apparel have other things to keep them occupied - Like trying to keep the doors open. American Apparel stock lost 23% of its value yesterday, after announcing that it may have to liquidate under Chapter 11 of the federal Bankruptcy Code. Apparently, the company recently experienced a fourth quarter loss in excess of 19 million dollars.

Charney has stated, in recent months, that the loss of 1500 workers that resulted from a government immigration audit of employees of his downtown L.A. facility, has negatively impacted his enterprise.

So, for those so inclined, buy those shirts while you can. They can probably be purchased at drastically discounted prices now, and will likely be collectors items in the near future.

Nicky And Nightingale

Illegal immigration was a significant issue in the election in November, and perhaps the two most colorful California characters in the debate were Nicandra Diaz Santillan and Chelene Nightingale. As you may recall, the latter asserted that the President is an illegal alien, and the former wailed about her journey to becoming an unemployed illegal alien.

Well, it's been several months since Californians went to the polls and reaffirmed their faith in the leadership of the Democratic Party. Where are these two now?

NICKY DIAZ

When questioned on national television as to what actions would be taken against Nicky Diaz (who burst onto the scene when she sobbed her tale of employment and dismissal by GOP gubernatorial candidate, Meg Whitman), Department of Homeland Security Chief, Janet Napolitano, said she wasn't sure. Well, four months later, we appear to have an answer: Not any.

Not only is Nicky Diaz not facing prosecution by the federal government for unauthorized employment, fraud or utilization of forged documents, she's preparing to be hailed as a hero, in Los Angeles.

Angelica Salas and her outfit, CHIRLA, will be honoring Ms. Diaz, whom that organization describes as an "immigrant worker advocate," along with others, including recently retired Cardinal Roger "Child Molestation Enabler" Mahoney (http://www.chirla.org/node/517). Apparently, as she does not have to concern herself about being apprehended by immigration authorities, Nicky now spends a portion of her post-election days fighting for a California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights (http://tinyurl.com/ydybood).

CHELENE NIGHTINGALE

Once the California primary elections were concluded, American Independent Party gubernatorial candidate, Chelene Nightingale, pretty much had the position of immigration law enforcement to herself. However, she may best be remembered, not for her advocacy to secure America's borders, but for concerns she voiced on the campaign trail about the alliance between the Rothschilds and the Bilderberg Group, chemtrails being seeded in American skies, and learning the truth about 9/11.

As she did not win the election in November, she never got to follow through on her campaign pledge to confront Barack Obama about his immigration status (http://tinyurl.com/4uefruk), however, she apparently did not abandon her effort to become California's Governor. In fact, it appears that she believes she is the Governor of California ... or, at least, the Republic of California.

A video recently surfaced that depicts Ms. Nightingale introducing another speaker, wherein she is described as Governor, California Republic (http://tinyurl.com/49c68sp). From what the staff at DerailAmnesty.com can piece together, it seems that Chelene has become involved with a collection of folks that includes Ken Cousens. Mr. Cousens, who is praised by his admirers as a legal scholar, is of the opinion that the United States Federal Government is invalid as it has been operating in violation of Constitutional principles. He states that this unlawful "corporation" has been operational since 1791, and that its claim to power is illegitmate. Consequently, he appears to have taken steps to form another government, The Republic for the united States of America (http://tinyurl.com/4sgdmh8), of which Chelene Nightingale is a part.

While Ms. Nightingale is purportedly California's Governor, the presidency is now claimed by a man named Tim Turner (James Timothy Turner). Prior to ascending to the Office of the Chief Executive, Mr. Turner earned a niche following on the internet by making presentations wherein he advised distressed homeowners that they can avoid mortgage foreclosures by taking "legal" actions that, apparently, include filing liens against judges and proclaiming one's status as a "free man." This "Republic" outfit had been selling National ID cards and "Travel Warrants" over the internet until, the organization's website reports, some former members made off with the ID card machines and payments made by people who tried to buy the cards.

Laws Don't Apply To Us - Part III

Good news, if you're an illegal alien in Southern California! Your unlawful existence in this part of the country just got even easier, thanks to ever-expanding sanctuary city policies in Los Angeles. More specifically, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck substantially reduced the chances that you'll be prevented from driving around uninsured and without a license.

How did this come to pass, you ask? Simple, a bunch of pro-illegal alien cheerleaders hollered about discrimination and the Chief promptly changed the rules for impounding vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers who get nabbed at DUI/License checkpoints (L.A. Why would a career cop do this? After all, isn't it illegal to drive an automobile if you don't have a license and insurance? Yes, but the reality is this -- Charlie Beck is a whore. And he is a whore as a matter of necessity. Anyone who occupies his position is going to jump when the Mayor of L.A. instructs him to do so. This situation is the result of the reforms that were put in place after the Rodney King riots. The Chief of the LAPD essentially serves at the whim of the mayor, and Antonio Villaraigosa was a hardcore Chicano activist during his college days. He no more wants illegals to feel uncomfortable in L.A. than he wants to seriously address the monster budget deficit he created during first term as Mayor of Los Angeles.

Bottom line, Los Angeles has the largest population of illegal aliens in the country for major reasons. And chief among them is that many laws really just don't apply to the undocumented in this city (previous DerailAmnesty.com article about legal double standards in L.A. for the undocumented -

It takes more than willing employers (L.A.'s got plenty), a liberal minded populace (L.A. has a large population of people who identify as progressives), close proximity to Mexico, and more Spanish language TV and radio stations than you can shake a stick at, to build the largest illegal alien population in the country. L.A. has done it, however, to the extent that no other area in the U.S. comes close to matching the number of illegals and anchor babies who reside here.

You see, for illegal immigration to flourish, lots of state and local laws that have nothing to do with immigration must go unenforced. Otherwise, life becomes too difficult for illegal aliens and they do the unthinkable -- They leave and go somewhere else. Well, it's not too difficult here, in the least. In fact, it's really comfortable here for illegal immigrants, and it is designed to be that way by local officials and special interest groups (Chamber of Commerce, SEIU, United Teachers Of Los Angeles, Nat'l Day Laborer Organizing Network, etc.) that want them here.

Southern California's Immediate Future

Despite the best efforts of gamblers in Atlantic City and stock anaylysts on Wall Street, no one has mastered the skill of predicting the future with 100% accuracy. We can, however, make educated guesses based upon trends and current statistical information.

With the release of 2010 census findings, current information is now available about America's second largest city and its outlying areas, and it's certainly not good (See http://tinyurl.com/4nmuhln )

The population in the areas east of Los Angeles has boomed, and this growth has been fueled by Latinos. And, of course, when one talks about "Latinos" and population on the west coast, that mostly equates to "illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America, former illegal aliens, and their offspring."

In short, California, with its sanctuary city policies and generous public assistance programs, has imported the marginally educated and impoverished who have been breeding like crazy, and created conditions that are chasing away middle class white folks.

Well, what do we know about these newcomers, as a group? For starters, they earn less than other folks so they don't pay as much in taxes. Additionally, they aren't as likely to graduate from high schools and colleges as the people they are replacing, although they're far more likely to have kids earlier, more frequently, and out-of-wedlock.

Insofar as the state is concerned (aside from changing demographics), we know it's a mess. California is broke. We have a state deficit that is over twice the size of any other state's budget deficit.

Keeping these things in mind, the staff of DerailAmnesty.com (Long-time Californians and college grads, all!) sat around, shot the breeze, and tried to wrap our collective heads around the implications of all this. More specifically, what is it reasonable to expect during the next 15 or so years in our beloved southland?

Here are some of the trends we foresee. Needless to say, this is hardly scientific, and based upon a lot of speculation.

TRENDS ON THE ROAD TO 2025

- Private schools will be a growth industry. In roughly a generation, the Los Angeles Unified School District went from a point of state pride to a "drop-out factory" saturated no-man's land, to which middle class parents largely refuse to sentence their children. Having kids in L.A. is now roughly the same as having them in New Orleans or the United States Virgin Islands; if you're white, you shell out for private schools as a matter of necessity rather than luxury. As the same Latin American population that fueled L.A.'s boom in the 80's and 90's is spreading to the Inland Empire, there's no reason to expect we won't see the same story with public education repeat itself in the decade to come.

- The California State University system will suffer in terms of quality and reputation. Poor and working class Hispanic kids don't usually wind up at Stanford and Cal-Berkeley. They are often the first in their families to pursue college degrees, and they're far less likely to obtain four year diplomas than Asians and Whites. As approximately two thirds of the Golden State's population under 18 is Hispanic, these are the folks who will arrive, in far greater numbers, with laptops and aspirations, on the campuses of our country's largest university system. Unfortunately, statistics reveal that they're more likely to require remedial Math and English courses, and successfully matriculate in much smaller numbers. Simply put, what CSUN and Cal State L.A. have become, in terms of academics, many of the other CSU campuses will become, as well.

- Private security will be a growth industry. Haves like Have Nots at a distance and controlled. That's how we roll here in the U.S. of A. Suburbs evolved in our country for a reason. Gated communities will become as common in Riverside and San Bernardino as they are in their better-known sister county to the immediate west. Guys running around in uniforms and patrol cars make the middle class breathe easier, and always find employment when the poor get a little too close for comfort.

- The next L.A. race riot will extend east of the San Gabriel Valley. The people who fueled much of the looting and burning in the wake of the Rodney King verdict had children. A lot of those children, and illegal aliens who arrived since that time, can be found in an Inland Empire that is no longer lacking substantial population.

- State and city governments will grow even bigger. Poor and working class minorities in the U.S. historically vote for liberal candidates. So do people reliant upon generous government services. Further, folks from Mexico and Central America come from societies where "limited government" is simply not practiced. As bad a reputation as L.A. has given local government, there's no logical reason to think what caused city bureaucracy expansion in the City of Angels won't take root in an Inland Empire that is beginning to look like L.A.

- "Social Justice" will become a commonly heard term. Currently, "social justice" (an academic buzz word for "Socialism") is heard in college classrooms where Chicano Studies, social science courses, and History are taught. In an area of the country where more people of limited means are supplanting middle class residents, the appeal that "wealth sharing" always enjoys among Have Nots will become more pronounced.

Lindsey Graham v. The Truth

Senator Lindsey Graham wants to hand out residency rights to millions of illegal aliens. As anyone who follows the issue of our out-of-control borders knows, he's been in favor of an amnesty for years.

Well, there's certainly no shame in it. Lots of people in our country agree with him. What should cause him some embarrassment, however, are the arguments and assertions he's been peddling in support of his position.

Since he's had a lot of years to think about them, and South Carolina is hardly the worst university one could have as an alma mater, he should be able to come up with better stuff than the dishonest tripe that's been running out of his mouth.

Case in point, here are some "comprehensive immigration reform" cheerleading statements he peddled at a recent Hispanic Chamber of Commerce gathering, in San Antonio.

“If we shut this country off from the rest of the world, we’re going to slowly die as a nation.”

OK, interesting observation ... and completely unrelated to the issue of what we're going to do about our southern border and the millions of illegal aliens here. If we somehow magically permanently prevented anyone from breaking in ever again, while simultaneously deporting every illegal here, we'd hardly be "shut off" from the rest of the world. America allows in more LEGAL immigrants each year than any other ten countries combined, and Senator Graham knows this.

“Right now, we’ve got an irrational immigration system that can’t tell the difference between a guy who wants to fix roofs and a guy who wants to sell drugs.”

That's hardly true. Newcomers who want to repair buildings are quite welcome, and ones caught peddling dope are subject to denial of naturalization and deportation. What these folks have in common, however, is that they are all required to enter the country legally. The laws on the books distinguish between honest laborers and felons. What is "irrational," however, are politicians like Graham who seem unwilling to distinguish between an "immigrant" and an "illegal alien."

“I’m not going to create a bill to help my party with Hispanics; I’m going to create a bill to help America.”

No, he's going to attempt to hustle another amnesty that is intended to help the corporate interests that own him. Lindsey Graham is entirely bought and paid for by big businesses that stands to profit from cheap labor and new consumers. This is hardly a secret to anyone who takes a peek at the list of his most generous campaign contributors. You'd just think that, in return for their money, their puppet could've come up with better lies that don't seem so lame and obvious.

Much Ado About Nothing

The most recent news about immigration enforcement comes from Chipotle outlets in Minnesota. Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel recently performed an audit and found reason to believe that hundreds of workers who prepare burritos and other Mexican fare for the above-mentioned franchise are, in fact, illegal aliens. In response, Chipotle fired these employees, if they were unable to provide proof of legal residency and authorization to work.

Millions of Americans have expressed elation that the federal government finally did something (anything!) to enforce our nation's employment and residency laws, and there are also lots of folks who are furious that "hard working immigrants" have been displaced from their employment.

The truth, however, is that anyone who reacted with something more than a yawn to this story is getting needlessly excited. Nothing has transpired in the "Land of 1000 Lakes" to suggest that we're getting anything other than the "same-old-same-old."

More specifically, this "crack-down" is a farce. No illegal alien is being taken into custody. No undocumented worker or employer is being prosecuted. No Chipotle employee unlawfully here is being ushered into deportation proceedings. The sum total consequence of this "immigration audit" is that the illegals who were rolling and stuffing burritos for Chipotle, will now have to apply for jobs at the Qdoba or Del Taco a few blocks away.

In short, this is a show. And it is a show that produces not much. No one's tossed out of the country, no one's fined, and no one will face criminal charges. What the show is intended to accomplish, is to give the American public the impression that out-of-control illegal immigration is finally being addressed by government authorities. This is it! Now Obama, Napolitano and the USCIS have gotten serious!

Which, of course, they haven't. And any party that does get serious, like the State of Arizona, will discover the true sentiments of our Chief Executive and his loyalists, when it finds itself on the receiving end of lawsuits and endless insinuations of racism.

The evidence shows that the only thing they're serious about in regard to illegal aliens, is providing most of them with an amnesty. Just like the tough talk a few years ago about a border fence (the fence that never came close to being finished), or the more recent chirping about the newly acquired unmanned drones that are patrolling the southern border (which have succeeded in leading to the apprehension of essentially no one), the entire purpose of the Chipotle measure was to build an argument that now is the time for "comprehensive immigration reform," because "serious efforts" are being made in the area of immigration enforcement.

Don't be fooled. Like the cool-looking drone planes, the Chipotle event is splashy, featured in news stories, and designed to grab attention. What was actually achieved by the audit, however, tells the observer everything he needs to know about our President's true intentions -- No one's leaving, facing serious consequences or even paying a small fine.

Napolitano Joins The Immortals

At a recent speaking engagement in El Paso, Texas, the chief of Homeland Security included the following assertions during her public address:

"It is inaccurate to state, as too many have, that the border is overrun with violence and out of control. This statement—often made only to score political points—is just plain wrong."

"We need to be up front and clear about what’s really happening along our borders. Our border communities are safe."

"So today I say to the cartels: Don’t even think about bringing your violence and tactics across this border. You will be met by an overwhelming response. And we’re going to continue to work with our partners in Mexico to dismantle and defeat you."

"Taken as a whole, the additional manpower, technology and resources represent the most serious and sustained action to secure our border in our nation’s history. And it is clear from every key measure that this approach is working."

Addicted To Spending

California has a budget problem that dwarfs those of other states, and that includes budget problems of other illegal immigrant saturated states that also find themselves seriously in the red (California 28 billion; New Jersey 10.5 billion; Illinois 15 billion). How does California manage to stay on top? After all, it's not as though there aren't fiscally irresponsible elected officials elsewhere. What is it that consistently puts the Golden State head and shoulders above all competitors when it comes to the pursuit of financial armageddon?

The staff at DerailAmnesty.com would suggest that it is equal parts obliviousness and unbridled creativity on the part of political office holders. In fact, local politicians often come up with ways to spend California taxpayer money that many couldn't dream up if they tried. This week's example comes in the form of State Assemblyman, Gilbert Cedillo. Cedillo is perhaps best known for his repeated attempts to acquire drivers licenses for illegal aliens, however, it now appears that California state-issued ID's are not the only thing he'd like to shove into the pockets of millions of our undocumented neighbors. More specifically, he is submitting a bill that will provide state finanancial aid to illegal alien college students. In short, his proposed "California DREAM Act" will make grants of thousands of dollars available to students on California campuses who aren't even supposed to be in the country.

Well, California public universities must be rolling in the dough, right? Can't they afford this inane exercise in political correctness and subverting federal immigration laws?

Actually, they can't. Recently elected governor, Jerry Brown, has just announced his plans to cut 1.4 billion dollars out of the CSU and UC systems. Spending at California public campuses will essentially be rolled back to financing levels that existed when there were 70,000 fewer students enrolled at California run colleges. Classes are going to be drastically cut and tuition costs will grow rapidly.

However, we can all breathe a little easier knowing that illegal aliens at Sonoma State and UC Riverside will soon have access to free money that could be given to them in amounts ranging from four to eleven thousand dollars, annually. And the best part about all this? Governor Brown recently stated, at a UCLA campus rally just last month, that he intends to sign the bill when it passes.

"Otherwise Law Abiding"

Fresno State University student body president and would-be DREAM Act poster boy, Pedro Ramirez, put himself back in the news this weekend when he wrapped a pick-up truck around a tree (Article about the incident: http://tinyurl.com/4mp3nvk). And although we're confident it wasn't what he intended, he has demonstrated the emptiness of a commonly peddled lie.

The material falsehood in question is the asserted omnipresence of the "otherwise law abiding" illegal alien. It is the people who fall inside the parameters of this description, we are urged, who must be considered for "a path to citizenship." These folks are, allegedly, the ones who have violated no laws other than being in the U.S. without permission and taking jobs that "Americans won't do."

Naturally, like most propaganda, this notion is largely nonsense. Think about it. To perpetuate unlawful presence in California, over a period of years, practically necessitates multiple violations of state and federal laws beyond illegally working and residing in the U.S.

Ask yourself this: If you were one of our undocumented neighbors, and were determined to stay in Fresno, Oakland or San Diego for at least a few years, how many of these actions would it be tough to avoid?

- Driving without a license
- Creating or buying forged identity documents (Green card, drivers license, Soc. Sec. card, etc.)
- Using someone else's birth certificate for border crossings
- Using someone else's Social Security number

Is Pedro Ramirez the worst person in California? Hardly. Is he a valuable asset without whom the State of California will be demonstrably poorer, as DREAM Act advocates would have you believe? Please. Pedro is neither of those things. Like most people occupying his position, he falls somewhere in the middle. Essentially, he's "all about" Pedro. He ignores laws he doesn't want to follow. He was raised by law breakers who have done the same thing during their time here in California, has been cheered on by thousands recently, and advised that he is courageous and commendable. Resultingly, he's not likely to stop violating federal and state statutes he deems inconvenient, any time soon.

The solution to this problem is simple, according to proponents of "comprehensive immigration reform."

Just change the laws to accommodate him.

That makes sense, right?

The Myth Of Hispanic Conservative Legions In Waiting

The special interest groups that ceaselessly attempt to obtain some form of amnesty for millions of illegal aliens have their work cut out for them, for at least the next two years. The incoming Congress is decidedly more conservative than the last. Therefore, it is a safe guess that the next twenty two months will be filled with admonishments similar to the one that was mouthed by DREAM Act advocate Maribel Nunez, a few weeks ago: "If Republicans want the presidency in 2012, they would have to support the DREAM Act; otherwise they could start saying goodbye to power, since they will not have the Latino vote."

Ms. Nunez is hardly alone in having made this assertion. Indeed, at different times, the notion that the GOP must support some amnesty plan to woo Hispanic voters has been suggested by Larry Elder, Colin Powell, Newt Gingrich and Abel Maldonado ... along with many others. It's a common argument, and it also happens to be flat-out wrong.

Here's Reality Number 1 - Republicans will continue to get a minority of Hispanic votes, whether they oppose or support "comprehensive immigration reform."

And not only is this true now, it will be well into the future; no person reading this article in 2011 will likely ever experience otherwise. Further, this will probably remain true for the forseeable future despite whatever wars, recessions, natural disasters, groundbreaking technological discoveries or economic upswings may be headed our way in the coming decades.

This current state of affairs exists because ...

Reality Number 2 - Americans usually vote their pocketbooks and Hispanics, on the average, earn less than other Americans. They commonly need exactly the type of taxpayer funded goodies to subsidize their families, that Democrats so enthusiastically hand out.

Because the bulk of the Latino population in the U.S. has been derived from chain migration policies and unlawful entry/residency, we have millions of newly arrived Have Nots and their offspring. For a quarter century, we have been importing the impoverished and undereducated. After all, it's not the Mexican and El Salvadorean investment bankers, doctors, accountants, office managers and college professors who have been surreptitiously skittering north across Arizona deserts. And because of abysmal high school and college graduation rates, their overall socioeconomic status will not be changing any time soon.

Latinos, as a group, will mostly remain loyal to "progressive" candidates and it will have practically nothing to do with cultural or social values, religious orientation, concerns of "racism," or just about anything else you can name. It's going to be all about the green and how to get it. So the Republicans can campaign in Spanish, make nauseating speeches in front of National Council of La Raza audiences, appear at Cinco De Mayo festivals and pander in any fashion they see fit. It will all be largely for naught because the one area in which they'll never be able to match Democrats' street cred, is the success with which they give away other people's money.

Thoreau, Gandhi, King And Gutierrez?

Tireless illegal alien advocate, Luis Gutierrez, is at his wit's end as 2010 draws to a close. Currently, he's not unlike the manager of a Big Lots outlet whose store has just had an entire aisle stocked with a new shipment from a department store that couldn't move the merchandise. In short, he's got a product no one's been able to sell.

Notions of "comprehensive immigration reform" have proven to be just as unpopular coming from President Obama as they were a few years ago when George W. Bush was singing their praises. And just prior to Christmas, yet another effort to enact the DREAM Act failed to pass a decidedly liberal Senate. That's about half a dozen times now that it has gone nowhere when put in front of Congress for a vote.

It hasn't mattered how it's been dressed up, what sob stories have been marketed, how many newspaper columnists plead with their readers to feel "compassion," what "studies" are offered up to suggest that legalizing the undocumented will result in windfalls of billions, reduced crime, and improved race relations, and that there have been thousands of attempts to equate illegal aliens with immigrants of yesteryear. The truth is evident. A sizable majority of Americans want no part of another amnesty.

This has been infuriating for the elected representative who has publicly declared "I have only one loyalty, and that's to the immigrant community."

Resultingly, after seeing the most recent legislative attempt to grant residency rights to millions of illegal aliens scuttled, he stated “We need to decouple the movement for comprehensive immigration reform and justice for immigrants from the legislative process and from the Democratic Party process." Shortly thereafter, he added “When black people in this country decided they were going to fight for civil rights and for voting rights, they didn’t ask if the majority leader was with them and when they were going to tee up the bill. They said, ‘We’re sitting where we need to sit on the bus! We’re integrating this counter! We’re going to march!'”

And herein lies Mr. Gutierrez's next problem - failing to change U.S. laws to accommodate illegal aliens who won't follow the ones we have, isn't unfair.

Civil disobedience worked for blacks in the 1960's because the protestors were right, and their actions drove the point home. It was fundamentally unfair for average, decent people to be disallowed from dining at southern lunch counters because of their skin color. How can a man be asked to risk his life defending his country against Hitler, and then be required to sit in the back of a public bus? On what rational grounds was a U.S. citizen forced to attend substandard public schools, when better ones were nearby, but unavailable to non-whites? Such practices and standards were offensive to the espoused principles stated in our nation's Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the protests drew attention to them.

The same cannot be said, however, of people who have failed to follow laws that apply to would-be immigrants of all colors. There is no government or society spawned injustice when children of criminals are not rewarded for their parents' systematic, repeated and successful law violations. Some, like Congressman Gutierrez, believe that enforcing current immigration and employment laws is an attack upon Latinos. To disallow illegal alien children from receiving taxpayer subsidized college tuition rates is an injustice. Those people, however, are a minority. Most in the U.S. don't see it that way.

Consequently, when illegal aliens occupy the waiting rooms of U.S. senators and refuse to leave, the common question is why they weren't turned over to ICE. As "Dreamers" from UCLA and Cal State Northridge lie down on major L.A. thoroughfares during rush hour, the usual commuter response is anger because of an inability to get home, rather than sympathy.

Put most simply, illegal alien advocates may believe they have a civil rights issue, however, most American voters don't agree. And all the tantrums and cries of "racism" aren't going to be changing that any time soon in the hearts of most taxpayers who pay billions to subsidize the lives of people who have no business being here.

Civil disobedience and a "Latino revolt" on the streets in 2011, Congressman? The staff at DerailAmnesty.com would love to see it happen, but quite frankly, we don't believe you're that detached from reality yet.

Disappointed "Dreamers" Speak Out

In the social circles the staff of DerailAmnesty.com inhabits, the senatorial rejection of the DREAM Act is considered an early Christmas present. Border security proponents are happy that millions of people, who have no business being here in the first place, are not being made permanent additions to our nation ... at least on this occasion.

Many Californians, however, have very different sentiments. They are emotionally invested in the notion of legalizing the undocumented and believe the DREAM Act should have passed years ago.

Below are some of their thoughts about the U.S. Senate's failure to pass what they believe would have been a "down payment on comprehensive immigration reform."

Undocumented and Unimpeded

The DREAM Act was rejected by the U.S. Senate, yet again, this morning. That makes it now roughly half a dozen times it has failed to pass when offered up before federal legislators. The will of the majority of taxpaying citizens was actually respected by elected officials, on this occasion.

That's the good news. The bad news is that it really doesn't matter as much as it would seem.

The people have just spoken about their revulsion at the idea of rewarding illegal aliens. And they did the exactly same thing a few years ago when an avalanche of incoming calls, decrying an attempted "comprehensive immigration reform," crashed the U.S. Senate switchboard. Americans want immigration and employment laws enforced, right?

It doesn't matter. They won't be. Certainly not in our neck of the woods.

Illegal aliens like Antonia Rivera and Jorge Herrera (pictured) will continue to scream and holler about their rights, how they feel victimized, and what they deem to be our obligation to change laws they and their families refuse to follow.

The reality is that illegal aliens are hardly "hiding in the shadows" on the West Coast. The undocumented in California get away with a whole lot more than tax paying citizens ever could.

Conducting unlicensed businesses, walking out on unpaid hospital bills, dumping education expenses, for children that have no business being here, on citizen taxpayers, engaging in unlawful employment, driving without insurance and licenses, utilizing fraudulent documents ... the list goes on.

They'll continue to do these things in L.A., Orange County and the Inland Empire, and elected officials and law enforcement will do next to nothing in response. Some of the younger ones wear shirts bearing the phrase "Undocumented And Unafraid!"

It makes sense. They should be unafraid. They know the will of the American people, the best interests of the state's and nation's citizens, and federal laws don't count for a whole lot in these parts.

Whatever Abel's Smoking, We Want Some!

Republican Lt. Governor, Abel Maldonado, the elected official who made a recent enormous California tax hike possible, is worried about the health of the GOP in this state. Specifically, he fears that promoting an Arizona-style immigration initiative will make Republicans unelectable. Maldonado has been quoted as issuing the following warning: "You can pull the life-support machine off the party, just pull the plug ..."

Based upon this remark, I almost have to wonder what state he's evaluating. More to the point, how could things possibly be made worse for the California GOP? Aside from the opposition party declaring martial law and imprisoning political dissenters without trials, I'm not sure what would qualify as "worse."

Mr. Maldonado needs to take a good hard look at the post mid-term election terrain and come to terms with reality.

California has annual budget shortfalls and an illegal alien population that dwarfs those of any other state. If states could file for bankruptcy, ours would be the first. If states could opt to secede from the U.S. and join other countries, California would be the most logical choice to be handed over to Mexico.

Our sanctuary cities act as magnets that allow us to import the impoverished and under-skilled at a rate no other state comes close to matching. Further, many of our public schools are now on a par with those found in Louisiana and Mississippi; we mass produce uneducated residents unfit for most white collar and technical jobs. Additionally, California's unemployment rate is well-above the national average. And to top it off, we are home to 15% of the nation's population, but can boast of hosting over 30% of welfare recipients in the U.S.

Yet in spite of all this, every single Republican candidate who ran for statewide office last month was rejected by a majority of California voters. Instead, Jerry Brown, Barbara Boxer and a slew of other Democrats, precisely the people who meticulously crafted many of the problems we currently face, were selected to continue to provide leadership.

A quick survey of the situation reveals the obvious. It's already about as bad as it will get for Republicans in California. And here's more bad news - undereducated, low wage earners, particularly those who believe they have an ethnic axe to grind, don't commonly veer to the GOP.

What do we know about Arizona's law? Many of its provisions were suspended when it was examined by a judge, and before it was ever implemented, over 100,000 people left the state for "safer" locations.

Our illegal alien population is well over double the size of the one that existed, until recently, in the Copper State. Further, there are far more anchor babies with illegal alien parents in California than there were in Arizona.

Could future GOP candidates stand to lose six figures worth of illegal aliens and their family members? Would frightening off over 100,000 bus boys, unwed mothers, people utilizing WIC benefits, car wash employees, patients who routinely leave hospital medical bills unpaid, and children who drop out of high school at a rate of over 50%, further cripple the California Republican party? Would the hint of immigration enforcement intentions scare away the very voters who normally storm to the polls to cast their ballots for those promising fiscal responsibility and limited government?

Arizona's immigration law on the California ballot, backed by the Republican Party? It's a no-brainer. Our state's GOP can't be rejected any more thoroughly than it already has, and at worst, assuming the ballot initiative is entirely overruled by the courts or rejected by voters, there will be tens of thousands fewer Californians around of precisely the type that most vehemently oppose conservative principles.

Mr. Maldonado might consider the notion that it is time to take a new tack, particularly in view of the fact that the old ones have failed so royally. This time, let's try yanking away the welcome mat.

Deport Pedro

Pedro Ramirez is four things: A person who graduated at the top of his high school class. The Student Body President at Fresno State University. An illegal alien, and someone familiar with T-shirts, popular with Latino kids in California, that are emblazoned with the phrase Undocumented & Unafraid.

Mr. Ramirez is also clearly bright, and familiar with the realities of immigration enforcement in the state in which his family has decided to set up house. For the latter reason, he has good cause to be "unafraid" and so do most his friends who share his immigration status. California has far more illegal aliens than any other state; 25% of all the people unlawfully in the country. California has two elected senators who talk about how much an amnesty (they like to call it "comprehensive immigration reform") would benefit the Golden State, at almost every opportunity. Further, California has enormous sanctuary cities, and even a newly elected governor who recently spoke about his desire to hand out financial aid to illegal alien college students. In short, immigration and employment law enforcement in California is a joke. It's not that those laws are rigorously enforced in all other corners of America, it's just that it's worse here than other places, and the illegals certainly know it.

For these reasons, Pedro Ramirez is the first person who should be detained and subject to deportation proceedings. Even ahead of Nicky Diaz (Meg Whitman's illegal alien housekeeper) and Matias Ramos (An activist who travels around the country, hollering about the need for radical changes in our laws, entirely unimpeded by his illegal alien status).

Now why would anyone want to lower the boom on such a seemingly nice, well-spoken young man who clearly has great potential? Simple. To send a message to all the other illegal aliens who deem our laws too inconvenient to follow and yammer about how unfair it is that we won't subsidize their college endeavors after having provided them free public grade school educations. They should be afraid. They should have reason to believe that America has expectations of newcomers that are not optional. They should fear policemen who enforce our laws, and not just the ones local elected officials deem palatable.

The notions of using forged documents, driving without insurance and licenses, and engaging in identity theft should give pause to anyone who is thinking of becoming a part of this country. Currently, they don't. Illegal aliens often break into California because it's close. They stay here, however, because it's easy. It shouldn't be. It should be every bit as difficult and worrisome to use a stolen social security number as it is to fondle school children, swipe perfume bottles from department stores or intermittently slap and punch your wife.

By deporting Pedro Ramirez, illegal aliens with far fewer redeeming values might reconsider many of their every day law breaking activities - starting with living in California.

DREAM Act = Amnesty

The Jason Voorhees (the indestructible serial killer from the "Friday the 13th" movie series) of proposed federal legislation is about to be submitted, yet again, to congressmen for their consideration. The DREAM Act simply won't die ... or more specifically, people who want it won't stop asking for it, no matter how many times it is rejected by legislators in Washington.

The folks who want to see millions of the undocumented legalized in this country are a minority, but they are passionate bunch. Their emotional investment in illegal aliens and their family members prevents them from coming to terms with two basic mainstream realities:

1. Most American voters view the DREAM Act as a reward to illegal alien families who have successfully violated our laws.

2. If someone wants to be part of the U.S., most Americans expect that person to apply to enter like everyone else, and stay at home until we let him in.

Many proponents of the DREAM Act view themselves and/or their friends as powerless victims of our immigration system, and believe they are enduring a difficult existence that American citizens are obligated to undo - undo by letting them stay, work and vote here.

They will flatly deny that the DREAM Act is an amnesty by asserting that it allows a large portion of illegal aliens to "earn" citizenship rather than having it simply handed to them. And that assertion is simply wrong. The DREAM Act is, without question, little more than a glorified handout, and what it requires in return is hardly a fair price for the right to call oneself an American. Is it an amnesty of the variety doled out to millions of illegal aliens in 1986? No, it is the thinly disguised type championed by George W. Bush, Barack Obama and John McCain that has been peddled under the name "comprehensive immigration reform." In short, it provides something of almost inestimable value (permanent legal residency leading to U.S. citizenship) in return for practically (not quite!) nothing.

The DREAM Act would work like this. Any illegal alien brought in to the U.S. while 15 or younger, who has been here 3 years or longer and obtained a high school diploma or GED somewhere along the line, is given legal residency in return for 60 college units (2 years of college credit) or 2 years in the military.

The DREAM Act beneficiaries would not be required to earn a degree, would not have to attend a university or any traditional four-year institution (JC or community college course credits will be accepted), and would not have to receive training in any academic or professional area where the U.S. population currently produces insufficient numbers (Mathematics, Nursing, etc.).

For those illegal aliens incapable of, or unwilling to work for, junior college credits that could essentially be accumulated by many of the brighter household animals you may have had an opportunity to walk or feed, there is a military service option. Two years is what it will take. Period. No combat requirement. No assignment to ongoing conflict areas. No length of commitment any longer than what was required of citizens whom we formerly drafted.

In short, the DREAM Act is a sad joke. An amnesty? Sure. Why, because it requires nothing? No, because it requires things that almost no one can fail to accomplish. The academic and armed services "requirements" are so insultingly simple that they are a hop, skip and jump away from asking the beneficiaries to learn to chew gum and walk, clip their fingernails twice a month, and to make sure to have milk in the refrigerator for when the kids come home from school.

Think of it like this - You walk into the nearest Mercedes dealership and plop down $500 in cash. In return, the salesman hands you the papers and keys to a shiny new 2011 model sitting in the showroom; that's pretty much the spirit and essence of the DREAM Act.

Laws Don't Apply To Us - Part II

Several weeks ago, a writing, touching upon community protests against police in Westlake, appeared on this blog. The local residents around MacArthur Park (most of whom are illegal aliens and their offspring) were upset about the shooting death of a local drunk who confronted police officers with a knife.

It was asserted in that piece that the real issue vexing the locals was that the LAPD had enforced the law in an area where the undocumented are used to police turning a blind eye to many of their daily illegal activities. Los Angeles is a sanctuary city and the illegals like it that way.

It is unfair of you (and racist to the core!) to prevent us from running unlicensed businesses, using fake ID's, ignoring health code regulations, engaging in identity theft, etc. etc. - This is pretty much the unspoken attitude of the locals and their well-organized advocates. One such advocacy outfit is The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), headed by Angelica Salas.

CHIRLA, and organizations like it in L.A., exist for one basic reason: To perpetuate and aid the continued presence of Latino illegal aliens in Southern California.

In short, if you're brown and "without papers," CHIRLA will have your back. Whatever unlawful shenanigans you've been engaging in are almost entirely irrelevant to the staff members of CHIRLA, whose political mindset is well to the left of mainstream American thought. These folks aren't "liberals," they are ethnocentric extremists bent upon shielding local illegal aliens from any consequences of their actions.

Case in point: The recent vice squad bust of Club 907 near downtown.

Club 907 is a "hostess club" that offers dancing and "companionship" to patrons (all at an hourly charge). It is one of several such area businesses that advertises pretty girls and dancing, but is commonly rumored to be offering less wholesome forms of entertainment.

The LAPD recently busted Club 907, and in response, CHIRLA and Angelica Salas had these public observations to offer: Most who were arrested were simply "honest, hard working immigrants." From CHIRLA's management's perspective "The LAPD has acted rashly by arresting those it claims to protect, and in the process, endanger the delicate balance between local policing and immigration enforcement."

So, what did the cops actually find when they engaged in a long overdue raid of one of these hostess club rat holes?

$100,000 in cash
Two bags of cocaine
Supplies of condoms
Alcohol (Club 902 has no liquor license)
Dozens of allegedly fake ID's
A missing 17 year old girl

Assuming that what the terribly illegal alien friendly LAPD claims to have found turns out to be accurate, it appears that Ms. Salas and her subordinates have a somewhat different idea of what constitutes "honest, hard working immigrants" than most of the rest of us.

Remember, for them, illegal aliens remaining here is the bottom line. And for that to work, the laws simply must remain unenforced.

Free Expression At Denair Middle School

This week includes Veterans Day, so a student attaches an American flag to the back of his bike. He pedals his way to Denair Middle School, and upon arrival, school staff members advise him to remove the Stars and Stripes. Word of this set of events quickly reaches the media, and upon questioning, the school provides the following response:

"(The) First Amendment is important," Superintendent Edward Parraz said. "We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsiblity."

Parraz said the campus has recently experienced some racial tension. He said some students got out of hand on Cinco de Mayo.

"Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they'll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don't really want," Parraz said. "We want them to appreciate the cultures."

Parraz said if a disruption arises over a flag, they want it to be taken down to protect the safety of all students.

Now, I studied Law, and I understand how it has been interpreted to protect not only free speech, but other types of expression, as well. Therefore, I am completely stumped. Maybe someone who reads this can point out what I'm missing here.

The Superintendent wants the children to "respect" and "understand" the First Amendment - a portion of the Constitution he describes as "important." Therefore, he orders the kid to cease his display of American pride so as not to agitate the students who feel stronger loyalties to Mexico?

Is the accusation true? Did Ebay's former CEO knowingly employ an illegal alien and then cast her aside when the arrangement posed a degree of political danger? Maybe, maybe not. The "charge" is about as reliable as anything else that jumps into the public's view from psuedo-lawyer and publicity hound, Gloria Allred.

More broadly, however, who cares? Is it that skirting immigration and employment laws is insignificant? Hardly. It's that whether Whitman did or not pales in significance to the grossly insulting and dishonest campaign she's been wallpapering across our state with her endless resources, for months on end.

Anyone who pays even the slightest attention to politics in the Golden State knows two things about the Republican gubernatorial candidate - She's loaded and she's a liar. Meg Whitman has voiced almost as many different positions on California's most significant problem, illegal immigration, as Lindsay Lohan has had incidents where she has fallen off the wagon. Her story changes from one moment to the next, or more specifically, from one audience to the next.

During the Republican primary she was, at first, for legalizing those unlawfully here and then, later, someone who would be "tough as nails" on illegal immigration - an enemy of sanctuary cities and employers of illegal laborers!

When her chief challenger for the GOP nomination was easily dispatched, however, she quickly rolled out an expensive Spanish language campaign singing a decidedly different tune. Latinos were assured on TV, radio and billboards that Meg Whitman objected to previous California voter supported legislation aimed at curbing illegal immigration and saving taxpayer resources. Further, she advised she certainly didn't want what Arizona has been trying; providing some annoyingly transparent rationalization that it wouldn't work in California because of our state's size.

Yesterday, however, just before the story involving the maid broke, she was back to her border hawk stance in Davis. Speaking in front of what she knew would be a predominantly white middle-class audience of listeners, she went on to distinguish her position from Jerry Brown's ... and this only weeks after telling a reporter that her views on immigration were much the same as that of the Democratic candidate.

Is this what passes for a major political candidate in 2010? Has the GOP actually sunk this far, and is truly unable to provide any better option to voters?

The management at DerailAmnesty.com recently changed political registration from Republican to Decline to State, and has never felt more confident in the wisdom of the decision than now.

It would indeed be ironic if this maid incident costs Ms. Whitman the election. Not because she hired and fired the illegal, but because no one believes her when she insists she didn't know of the woman's residency staus. Indeed, why should anyone in California believe a single word that comes out of her mouth?

This election can't come soon enough. Meg Whitman deserves to lose. She deserves to be rejected by California voters - the ones on the left, in the middle, and on the right. Not because she may have knowingly hired an illegal, but because she has she has repeatedly and obviously attempted to deceive Californians, who I guess are expected to forget her prevarications like employees who want to keep their jobs by giving the boss a pass on her endless bullsh--.

In Defense Of Aunt Zeituni

A video currently going "viral" on the internet is a report from WBZ in Boston about our president's aunt, and former illegal alien, Zeituni Onyango. One of the station's new reporters inquired about the disability checks she's been receiving, her defiance of two deportation orders, her assessment of criticism she has received, and asked a host of related questions.

To say that this woman should have checked her attitude at the door before sitting down for the interview, is probably the largest understatement I'll author this year. From describing her taxpayer funded decade in the U.S. as "a nightmare" to insisting that she is owed citizenship as an immigrant in the U.S., her assertions and demeanor are nothing short of flabbergasting (For those who haven't seen the interview, I include the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHoAuk76fT8)

Nonetheless, I'm aware the United States is a large country and that people's opinions will differ. In a nation composed of tens of millions, there is always going to be X percentage of the population that will defend even the most outlandish insults and manifestations of disrespect.

Therefore, I scoured the internet for just that. I looked high and low for posted opinions that voiced support for the substance of what Ms. Onyango conveyed in her recent interview. Here's what I was able to find:

- There are plenty of Asians, Africans, Europeans who are getting the same thing. They never paid anything into the system either...

- I think all of the people that commented need to calm down. A friend of mine met her and she turns out to be a very nice person. Don't go off saying she is terrible and disgusting because chances are most of the people here don't know her. You can't judge people if you don't know them as a person. Shame on all the people who typed that she was disgusting and rude.

- I didn't see a person that felt entitled. I saw a person unfamiliar with the sublties of the English language sandbagged by a Scum, Smart a*s reporter. If she were more aware of the nature of the media she would have just refused to talk to anyone. She doesn't know that the story is written first then the reporter goes out to manipulate her into saying what he thinks the story needs to appeal to the Haters that he is trying to reach.

- It's very disappointing to me that WBZ would choose to put this woman (who has clearly been through very tough times)on the spot for something that's in her past and also, for something that is practically a matter of routine when it comes to people who overstay a visa and remain in this country unlawfully. I for one would like to welcome her to America - and I don't feel she owes any one of us an explanation. She wasn't living the high life; in fact, living in a shelter has to be one of the most demoralizing things there can be. There are people born in this country everyday who are immediately granted citizenship - something that should be of far greater concern than Zeituni Onyango. I say God Bless her and let her live here in peace. Please instead, do what you can to make her feel welcome, if for no other reason that she's an aunt of our President. Portraying this story now, and putting this woman on the spot in the manner you did, is downright evil.

- This is a nation of immigrants that was built by immigrants. Aunt Zeituni has a right to the American Dream like your ancestors wanted. Stop your hating and be compassionate to someone who has needs and hardships that spoiled Americans can never know.

What's Going On In Westlake?

If you are aware of the rioting that is being wildly underreported by Los Angeles media, that commonly takes great pains to avoid showing illegal aliens misbehaving, you may be wondering what's going on. After all, what we know about the incident that is the subject matter of the unrest seems pretty straight forward. A Guatemalan day laborer, who was well known in his neighborhood for getting drunk and acting up in public, was shot dead when he lunged at police with a knife he had refused to drop after being ordered to do so, in English and Spanish. Apparently, one of the people he had been threatening on a street corner referred to the trio of officers who responded to the disturbance as "angels."

Nonetheless, the complaints issued from various corners of the "community" around Macarthur Park center on anger over the presence of police. Why? Isn't police presence in a gritty neighborhood a good thing? Why the fuss?

Well, it's simple. Los Angeles is a sanctuary city for illegal aliens and that neighborhood is chock full of them. In a sanctuary city, people here unlawfully aren't held to the same standards as they would in locations where laws aren't just for citizens. They're not going to be questioned about their immigration status unless they commit other crimes. They won't be required to carry ID that legal non-citizen immigrants must have on them, as a matter of federal law. They're not going to have to apply for and acquire bothersome permits to sell food and other items on the street. Further, if they get picked up for driving without licenses, they won't be arrested. And even if they do something that results in arrest, the chances of having their backgrounds checked for legal residency in the U.S. are pretty slim.

Illegal aliens are not criminals here. Hell, our mayor told them so just a few years ago, in response to enthusiastic cheers. Not only that, but the new Chief of Police would never have gotten his promotion signed off on by Mayor Villaraigosa if he had given any indication that he had much interest in making life unpleasant for the millions who live here in violation of immigration laws. Everyone knows this, including the "immigrant community" where this shooting took place.

Therefore, the locals don't want or expect cops to do much law enforcement at all. After all, Mr. Jamines had been drunk and loud plenty of times. What's the big deal now? I mean, it was only a knife with a little blood on it and it's not as though he'd hurt anyone previously on the occasions he made an inebriated spectacle of himself, right?

It's a culture, folks. Criminals don't want police around, period. If you're not going to enforce these other laws, hell, why should we have to answer to anyone in a blue uniform?

This is a situation in which Villaraigosa and Police Chief Beck should happily marinate. They have no one to blame other than themselves ... unless you want to count the City Council and other race-baiting local politicians who have made endless excuses for the undocumented and allowed this situation to fester for years.

White Nationalist Alert

I shot this clip awhile back because I had good reason to believe these guys were white nationalists who had walked into a legitimate border security advocacy street protest. I was about 85% sure, but when we're talking about calling people "Nazis," I'm not going to say anything until and unless I'm certain. Well, now I'm certain.

These two gentlemen are or were affiliated with a white nationalist outfit by the name of Freedom 14 (the number 14 has significance for white supremacists: We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children / 14 words). From publicly available information, I have learned that they like to use the illegal immigration issue to ingratiate themselves/introduce their materials to the public. They have advertised and/or posted on the Stormfront website and, apparently, one of their common "ploys" when asked about the Holocaust is to behave as if they've never heard of it. The taller, dark haired guy has used or been referred to by multiple names, even in the group's own promotional videos.

To my knowledge (which is admittedly limited), all their public appearances/"activism" have taken place in Orange County. I shot this in San Juan Capistrano and they've distributed materials on at least one occasion in Huntington Beach.

This is just an FYI. We didn't know who or what these guys were at our demonstration in South O.C., and I didn't openly confront them or round up a bunch of border security advocates to shoo them away (as we did when the Golden State Skinheads attempted to rally with us in Simi Valley, a few years back) because I simply wasn't 100% sure. I am now and will be forwarding this information to every border security activism organization of which I can think, here in California.

Carly Fiorina Wants It All ...

... and she's hardly alone. A number of the uber-wealthy Republican candidates, who have been staking out positions on the immigration issue, seem to be saddled with the same desire.

I dunno, I've never had tens of millions of dollars to my name. Maybe acquiring huge amounts of capital makes people more likely to believe that they can have two entirely contradictory positions and that all things are possible.

Case in point, Ms. Fiorina's fellow Californian and GOP member, Meg Whitman. The former Ebay CEO ran a string of ads prior to the Republican primary wherein she was touted as being "tough as nails on illegal immigration." Only weeks later, however, she made the public pronouncement that her position on illegal immigration is almost identical to that of Jerry Brown.

Never one to be outdone by people who have never held elected office, Arizona Senator John McCain simply decided to rewrite history while plastering the Phoenix and Tucson areas with campaign ads characterizing him as a hawk on that state's border crisis. When asked repeatedly at campaign stops why he championed the push for an amnesty when seeking the presidency two years ago, he repeatedly stated I didn't.

Now getting into this groove is the woman who would replace Barbara Boxer as California's junior senator. Without batting an eye yesterday, during a debate with the incumbent, Ms. Fiorina asserted (almost in the same breath) that she supports the DREAM Act and is absolutely opposed to amnesty for illegal immigrants.

That Ms. Fiorina, is quite a trick. Even for a former head of Hewlett-Packard with your impeccable academic credentials. In fact, in that same vein, I would request that you attempt at least one of the following to prove that you indeed possess the ability to pull this whole Love-DREAM-Act-And-Hate-Amnesty stunt off:

A. Vow to expose yourself to the Arts and improve your mind this Labor Day Weekend while making sure you miss not a minute of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians marathon being featured on VH1.

B. Go on a crash diet while eating 3 meals a day at Church's Chicken.

C. Proclaim your disgust with Lebron James for his narcissism and self absorption while anxiously standing in line to purchase Lakers tickets decked out in an NBA replica Kobe Bryant jersey.

D. Criss-cross the country in a private jet and limousine to various engagements where you are scheduled to warn people about the dangers of global warming.

E. Suck down a couple cans of Red Bull on the way to the gym, to get yourself primed for exercise that your doctor has told you is necessary to reduce your blood pressure.

F. Religiously watch MSNBC while complaining about the bias and lack of objectivity present on the FOX News Channel.

The Democrats' Political Football

We have an election coming up, just around the bend, and it appears to be a pretty bleak one for the folks currently holding superior elected numbers in Washington. All indicators point to the Democrats being hauled out to the woodshed in November, by voters dissatisfied with a different type of change having been delivered than what they had expected.

Long story short: The Republican voters are charged up, the Democratic ones anxious, and in the era of rocketing deficits, the independents have been sharply veering to the right.

Obama, Pelosi and the surprisingly endangered Harry Reid, would love to energize the people of color who played a large part in the Democratic success two years ago. There's a problem, however. A lot of them were Latinos and a good number are peeved that the president hasn't delivered on his "comprehensive immigration reform" promise.

Of course, the reality of the situation is that Obama can't deliver that promise before this election. Not in a country boasting double-digit unemployment. So, what can he do to appease these folks? Well, you've been watching it. He instructed Eric Holder to sue Arizona and he's made sure that a very public series of dismissals of immigration-related prosecutions in Houston have been available for public consumption by the media.

Will the White House make good on its promise to legalize millions of the undocumented any time soon? Not likely. Will the Democrats continue to use immigration as an issue to attempt to keep Hispanics on a short leash, and to ensure that they don't wander too far into more conservative pastures? Absolutely. Just ask Harry Reid. He can't imagine how any Latino could be a member of the GOP.

The bottom line is that illegal immigration is too valuable an issue for people on the Left to resolve. The value it holds as a demonization of the opposition tool, has enormous utility and they're trying to max it out to avoid the anticipated upcoming election upheaval.

Make good on promises instead? That's a good one!

Not all hard-core amnesty advocates are entirely unrealistic. Most realize that the legalization for millions, that they'd love to obtain, will not be coming this year. After all, there's an election around the bend and the nation is mired in a lengthy recession.

In response, a good number of folks on the left have adopted a more piecemeal approach. Specifically, they want a "down payment" on comprehensive immigration reform from the American public. And in their minds, the appropriate immediate compensation should be in the form of the DREAM Act.

For those not familiar with the DREAM Act, it is proposed legislation that would grant an amnesty (with a few bells and whistles on it) to tens of thousands of illegal aliens who were brought to the U.S. as minors. It's been rejected by Congress on each of the prior occasions it has been offered up in bills.

Nonetheless, its proponents remain undeterred. Go ahead, "google" the words Dream Act Down Payment. You'll receive dozens of hits.

Now, I'm neither a financial nor real estate expert, but I do understand two basic things about the term down payment. It means a debt is owed and that more than one payment will be required to pay it off.

Therefore, my question to anyone who has read this far: What do you believe American citizens owe to people who have been living in our country illegally?

How can we make this right with the illegals? What's fair compensation from citizen taxpayers to the undocumented? How much is owed to our neighbors who unlawfully reside in our nation and what is the best way to make fair payment?

I'd like to know and hope you'll share your opinion in a comment below.

Jamiel Shaw's Detractors

Most Californians who bother to stay informed about our state's illegal immigration crisis recognize the name Jamiel Shaw, Jr. Jamiel was a star football player at Los Angeles High, looking forward to his senior season, when he was shot dead a few doors down from his house. The person believed to have committed the murder turned out to be an illegal alien with gang ties and a considerable criminal record. As a result of sanctuary city policies that permeate Southern California law enforcement, however, the alleged killer was never turned over to federal immigration authorities on the occasions he had been taken into custody. He was released back into L.A. County, repeatedly.

Shortly after Jamiel's tragic death, Walter Moore, a local attorney, proposed a modification to longstanding LAPD policy that prevents Los Angeles officers from inquiring about a suspect's immigration status under most circumstances. The alteration would have been limited to known gang members.

It makes sense, right? After all, which L.A. residents, documented or undocumented, want illegal alien gang members traipsing around our neighborhoods?

Well, in the Southern California scheme of things, it apparently did not make sense. No members of the L.A. City Council made even the slightest effort to enact Jamiel's Law. The family's pleas fell on their deaf ears, along with the mayor's.

In fact, some local illegal alien advocates have gone as far as to suggest that Jamiel Shaw was gunned down because of alleged gang ties, and thus, the law denying sanctuary city protections to violent undocumented gang members is inappropriate.

To these assertions, I have the following responses:

- I don't believe Jamiel Shaw was involved in gang activity. Why? Simple, gang members have criminal records including lots of arrests. Not Jamiel Shaw, Jr., however. No evidence, written, witness or otherwise, has ever been produced to illustrate that he had any run-ins with the law or local officers.

No one ever came up with a story of this kid being hassled by cops or getting questioned or cufffed. What kind of a gang member or affiliate gets through 17 years near South Central Los Angeles without arrests, detentions and police contact reports? The non-gang member type. Ask any local criminal lawyer.

- If he was, who cares? Under what circumstances is it OK for known gang members, who are illegally in the country, to be released by police back onto our streets? Is it acceptable when some of the Americans they cripple or kill have gang affiliations?

An affirmative answer to the last question is patently absurd.

If you're fed up with endless excuses being made as to why our state has to be filled with people who reside in our country unlawfully, and having to endure the consequences of their local presence, then I urge you to lend a hand to the Shaw Family. In the near future, they will be making a large effort to place Jamiel's Law on the ballot in a local election. They'd like voting Angelenos to decide whether or not sanctuary city policies should be extended to illegal alien gang members.

The Shaws are upstanding people who deserve far better from the elected officials who supposedly represent them, than what they got. Let's see if we can help them out in some small way, so that L.A. is safer and they won't believe that their son's murder is no big deal to the people with whom they share this city.

Pablo's Obstacle

Pablo Alvarado is a man with a mission. He wants to assist illegal aliens across the United States. The more he can do to help them acclimate to, and navigate through, life in America, the happier he is.

Tom Tancredo? Ira Mehlman? Jan Brewer? In terms of motivation, Mr. Alvarado is there with them every step of the way. He just happens to be on the other end of the political spectrum, regarding the illegal immigration debate.

After helping launch The Institute for Popular Education of Southern California, an organization that runs half a dozen day labor sites for the City of Los Angeles, and provides innumerable types of assistance to legal and illegal immigrants, he went on to start the National Day Laborer Organizing Network.

Yes, there is such a thing.

In fact, the NDLON which is based in Los Angeles, has been around for a few years now. The organization has more than sufficient funding, employees, a staff attorney, dozens of organizations with which it partners across the country, and an almost religious devotion to the idea of obtaining legalization for undocumented workers and their families.

Pablo Alvarado's National Day Laborer Organizing Network headquarters is located just outside the western the edge of MaCarthur Park, east of L.A.'s Koreatown.

Interested in purchasing bootleg DVD's of recently released movies or knock-off designer handbags? At least some of the street vendors near MaCarthur Park should be able to hook you up. Do you require forged identification documents? Take a stroll through MaCarthur Park. That's what a crew from 60 Minutes did several years ago when seeking to illustrate the availability of fake drivers licenses and Social Security cards.

Are these NDLON affiliated or sponsored enterprises? No. Are these "businesses" relatively common features in America's largest sanctuary city, particularly in illegal alien neighborhoods? Absolutely.

As you can imagine, Pablo Alvarado is no fan of the recent legislation enacted in Arizona. His organization has sponsored a website urging resistance and opposition to the efforts to enhance enforcement directed at that state's undocumented population ( AltoArizona.com ). Employees and other persons associated with the NDLON have participated in and orchestrated civil disobedience protests in response to SB 1070.

When interviewed about the new immigration enforcement policies in Arizona, Mr. Alvarado described them as "absolutely unacceptable to our community." And insofar as that assessment is concerned, I could not agree more. He's absolutely right. In fact, to families and neighborhoods saturated with illegal aliens, enforcement of employment, residency and local code regulations, makes the lives of the undocumented nearly impossible.

In a sanctuary city like Los Angeles, where law enforcement routinely looks the other way, people can continue to pour into the community and engage in all manner of law violations necessary to sustain the existence of most illegal immigrants in the U.S.

Citing fruit vendors at freeway onramps for failing to properly refrigerate and store produce, however, is not part of that equation. Confiscating and arresting hot dog vendors preparing food at non-code compliant and unlicensed stands is also contrary to the running of a sanctuary city. Further, checking the residency status of unlicensed drivers pulled over for moving violations is a near disaster for illegal aliens. And of course, day laborer restrictions cripple the cash-driven economy of illegal alien saturated locations like Los Angeles, Houston and San Bernardino.

In fact, sizeable illegal alien communities rely on non-enforcement of all sorts of local and federal laws. They simply can't get by without it. Stripped of the ability to steal Social Security numbers, deal in forged ID's and engage in about a dozen other prohibited types of conduct, the whole system falls apart.

Therefore, we can expect Pablo Alvarado to fight like hell. What has taken place in Arizona he cannot permit to continue, much less spread to other states. It's real simple. The minute laws apply to illegal aliens in the same fashion as they do to everyday American citizens, his "community" ceases to exist. Pablo Alvarado has spent much of his life assisting illegal aliens in the U.S. And he has recently watched tens of thousands of the undocumented, along with their American-born children, flee the Copper State. He knows that law enforcement works, and that, Pablo Alvarado simply cannot permit - not if his "community" is to survive in the U.S.

America In A Post SB 1070 Litigation World

Two questions:

1. What will happen in the event Roe v. Wade (the foundational case law upholding a woman's right to an abortion under most circumstances) is overturned?

2. What on Earth does #1, above, have to do with Arizona's attempt to pass tougher illegal immigration laws?

If Roe v. Wade is struck down by a conservative Supreme Court, will abortion services in every state simply cease to exist? Most legal experts don't believe so. The famous 1972 legal decision simply set forth circumstances under which a state may not interfere with a woman's decision to terminate a fetus she's carrying. In reality, some states in the Bible Belt would like to outlaw abortion under most circumstances, and many, along the coasts, would not seriously consider passing such legislation.

In a post-Roe U.S., there would likely be "abortion states" and "no abortion states." A young woman residing in Louisiana or the Dakotas might find herself traveling to California or New York to seek the medical service she feels is in her best interests.

The last two paragraphs answer Question One. The answer to Question Two is, after Arizona's legal battles over SB 1070 are concluded, we might have a very similar situation to the one described above. There will be "sanctuary" or "illegal alien" states, and there will be "rule of law" or "no illegal alien" states.

The Department of Justice's attorneys attempted to enjoin all the illegal immigration fighting legislation contained in SB 1070. They didn't succeed. Certainly, key parts were temporarily suspended. Indeed, those injunctions may become permanent upon further judicial review. Several key provisions were left standing, however and, as this is being written, Maricopa County sweeps for illegal aliens are taking place. Further, in anticipation of immigration law enforcement legislation being enacted, tens of thousands of the undocumented, along with their family members, have fled Arizona for friendlier terrain.

The bottom line is that states can engage in some fashion of immigration law enforcement. No knowledgeable party has represented otherwise. 287(g) employee checks, day laborer restriction regulations, and a host of other programs or currently existing laws are available to states that want to deter the influx of the marginally educated and financially needy population that is unlawfully setting up house in their cities and villages.

In fact, the SB 1070 litigation is likely to better clarify what the limits are regarding the federal government's ability to prevent states from performing the immigration enforcement-related duties it has avoided. Nonetheless, some of SB 1070 will remain standing, and with it, the ability to encourage illegal aliens to flee.

States already considering Arizona-type laws (Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Oklahoma ...) will have a blueprint after the Supreme Court has spoken, and may decide to follow suit. And certainly, there are illegal alien saturated locations in the United States, such as California, New York and New Mexico, that are currently far too politically liberal to anticipate that they are the next locations where an "Arizona uprising" is likely to unfold.

Will most illegal aliens in "rule of law" states head home? Probably not. Particularly when the economy improves. They're likely to pack up for Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and other locations with entrenched sanctuary policies.

In short, the illegal alien saturated states will become more so, and the less hospitable will reap much smaller and quieter populations of those "living in the shadows." There'll essentially be Illegal Alien States and Non-Illegal Alien States.

Will California, Illinois and Texas exploit their abundant "resource" and become reborn manufacturing centers, fueled by sub-minimum wage laborers? Will Arizona, Pennsylvania and Ohio flourish with improved public schools and greatly reduced tax burdens. Hold on to your hats. There's a reasonable chance we'll find out before the last of the baby-boomer generation reaches retirement age.
